at 33300 maximum mana at level 80, assuming 3/3 Mental Agility and 1/1 Soul Warding rapture will cause your PW:S to break even. Therefore, 33050 will give you a net gain of 1 mana per cast.

Really? I was at 33k or so mana, and my PW:S cost 666 mana, and I was getting ~850 mana back from it.
An easy way to calculate is to just take 2.5% of your max mana, and see if it's higher than the cost of PW:S
If Max mana * .025 > PW:S mana cost, then you're good.

O.O Awesome captcha
also, I just looked at my math and I used the wrong part of Rapture's mana regen; its really 26640 to break even; 26680 to always gain 1 mana.

Another thing,
Ingela's Rapture
is excellent for watching the CD on Rapture's mana return. Places where you can abuse the "Rapture Trick" are:
Koralon (His fire breath AoE)
Icehowl (the stomp)
Gormok (his AoE on the melee)
Festergut (His AoE after 3 Inhale Blights)
Toravon (Whiteout)
There are others, but they're harder to time (IE, Marrowgar's Bone Storm) But these are pretty much the easier ones to get. You might get unlucky once in a while, and one of your bubbles will break due to single-target damage to someone.
And before you ask, no, this is not an illegal exploit. Blizzard has said it themselves, that this "Rapture Trick" is "Clever use of in-game mechanics". Translation: "We're going to patch it soon, so enjoy it while you can."

Yeah, it's good that they treat it that way, otherwise they'd essentially be telling Disc priests "You can't shield the whole raid during these fights where the whole raid will take large amounts of damage at once - or you're at risk of an exploitation ban. So stop doing your job as you're designed to do it."
Yay for clever use of in-game mechanics!
Oh, and Loki...because you're still leveling. You get
both
the caster and target bonus if a shield on yourself bursts. If you're out soloing, this may be of use to you.
At level 80, PW:S costs 666 mana to cast. Being PW:S caster gets you 2.5% of your mana. Being PW:S
target
gets you 2% of your mana. At 14800 mana, at level 80, you'd break even. So it'd be a little less required at lower levels when your base mana and PW:S costs are lower.
