PW: S before a pull?

I am posting this question in both the Warrior and Preist forums...to get both points of view.
The heart of my question is this:
Should a priest PW:S(Power Word: Shield) a Warrior Tank before a pull?
Here is the background behind my question:
I just started leveling my Priest; I have not played my Priest since Vanilla WoW days..pre-AQ. I have not played WoW in general for about a year (and there have been lots of changes to both Priests and Warriors).
Back in Vanilla WoW, you did not want to PW:S your tank(which were almost all Warriors at that point) just before a Pull, because the damage negation hindered his early-pull rage generation, which in turn diminished his ability to get agro quickly.
I see frequent comments like "rage generation shouldn't be a problem" and with things like Charge in any stance, maybe it doesn't matter anymore. I recognize that this is not really a game-breaking decision here...but I am just curious. It was always my opinion that the small things are what made the difference between a good and a great player.

absolutely they should (at least if they are disc) because then WS wears off by the time the shield is absorbed.
shields do not affect rage generation (haven't for a long time).

Thank you much for the replies. Forgive my ignorance, I haven't played my priest since MC/BWL.

As has been noted, PW:S does not effect rage generation even though many players are not aware of this. However, one thing important to keep in mind as a priest, is that PW:S will act as a sort of body-pull, which will overwrite the tank's body pull, which will only be overwritten by actual damage. Example:
1. Warrior bodypulls a group, has not thunderclapped/etc, i.e. no damage dealt. The pack is however running to him as the linked mobs have 'noticed' the warrior. There is now an active threat table.
2. Priest casts bubble (on warrior, his/herself, anyone in the party).
3. All mobs that have not yet received damage will immediately rush the priest, and will continue doing so until something has dealt damage to them.
Basically make sure you don't shield while the tank is still gathering via body pull, else the pack will rush you. With DKs or pallies this usually isn't too big of a deal since half the time the pack will be running through DnD or Consecration to get to you, which will of course damage them and pull them onto the tank and thus you're safe. But warriors do not have a static AoE to plant and assist with this, so many will ask you to be conservative with shielding in situations where there are lots of loosely arranged trash.

This is true for any buffing, be it an actual buff like Gift of the Wild or PW:Fort, or things like Life Tapping or eating food. Even things like trinket procs and activations do a small amount of threat that will pull away from a tank who's merely body-pulling.

Very true, very true. Just figured it was worth a mention as PW:S is something a priest will be doing a hell of a lot of the time, and it's apt to get noticed pretty quick with a warrior tank who's not quick to pick it up.

But it looks like the op wants to put up PW:S _before_ the pull, which should be just fine, no?
It's fine as long as the priest knows exactly when the tank will pull. That's not necessarily always the case.
