JC/BS compared to Mining/BS in Stamina gained

First of all I know some of you will tell me this should be in the Professions forums but I don't think it belong there as this is more of a simple question than a discussion.
Anyway, I'm currently jumping around leveling Mining for my DK alt so I can get some more stamina for tanking purposes when I got in to a discussion with some guildies about what professions gave the most stamina and we came to the conclusion that
JC/BS
gave
63 stamina
while
Mining/BS
gave
60 stamina
, as you can see there's a 3 stamina difference.

Now my question is, is there any particular reason for the JC/BS combo to give 3 more stamina, (
coming directly from the 1 stamina of the 51 stamina gems
) than the Mining/BS combo? Or is this just Blizz's way of saying "JC is more of a pain to level so they should get some sort of bonus"?
I personally suppose it's Blizz saying that JC is a pain to level, but I just thought I'd share it with you guys to see if anyone knew anything official about this.
Thanks for taking your time.

Because...that's just how it balances out with current stuff available. I don't think there's really anything official to be said about it. As more expansions come out and better gems (as well as higher mining skills) become available, it'll fluctuate some.
The +stam from mining is just blizz throwing miners a bone I guess, so that it's not a complete waste to use on a min/maxing toon.

Not exactly sure why we needed to see an item comparison to know there's a 63 stamina gain from Jewelcrafting.
As to the why; who knows. I've never seen or been able to find anything directly from the developers of why Jewelcrafting is slightly better than Blacksmithing in this regard. Leatherworking is slightly better then Mining as well
Bracer enchant = +62 Stamina
. The professions just happen to all be slightly different, but roughly the same.
It's generally accepted that JC/BS is "best" due to the customization available. When I switch to Fury spec, that +60 Stamina from mining is wasted, but if I was a JC I could have 3 Dragon's Eyes for my Prot Gear + 2 sockets, as well as 3 Dragon's Eyes for my Fury Gear + 2 sockets. You also have the choice of using Dragon's Eyes/Sockets for things like Armor Penetration, which you can't find in other professions. Another bonus is for classes that have talents that modify Strength. If you are a warrior with Enchanting, you can do two +40 attack power enchants on your rings for a +80 AP bonus. But if you are a fury warrior with Blacksmithing, you can put two +20 strength gems in those sockets, which give you 40*
120%
*2 = 96 Attack Power bonus.
In the end, the stat bonuses that professions give are just one part of what makes a profession attractive as a whole. The fact is that they are roughly the same and it won't make or break you as a character. 3 stamina is about 0.08% of my total unbuffed Stamina and is worth about 35 health, which out of 57000 fully buffed health, that's 0.0006% of my total health. The next time I'm overkilled by 35 damage or less, maybe I'll consider switching my Mining skill over to Jewelcrafting. But probably not.

You're talking about 3 stamina which is the equivalent of ~35-40 hp raid buffed.
That's like... nothing.
Doubt there's a hidden meaning to this overpoweredness of JC compared to mining
Nono, of course not. This small difference belongs in the absolute top tier of raiders, but anyway, I just found it a bit odd that they would make the 51 stamina gems 51 and not 50, which would've balanced JC/BS and Mining/BC perfectly, for tanks at least.
Edit
: @Porcell: Yea, what you just said makes pretty good sense overall. Didn't take LW/Chanting in to the equation, but when you do it becomes clear that they mostly threw pretty much the same numbers for every profession but not exactly the same... for some reason. :P

Do both like my Guild leader did; just make sure you have an alt high enough to keep mining for you at 80.
