so since 3.3.0 you cant roll need on an item that is not your class like if you ware leather you cant roll need on plate or cloth....... here is my problem what if there is an upgrade to me as a druid in a cloth peace but i cant roll need on it how could i get that peace then?

You could try asking the winner of the greed roll if he/she could give it to you, letting them know you couldn't roll on it initially, despite it being an upgrade. If there's an enchanter, try to let the group know you need that drop ahead of time, and (hopefully) they won't hit the de option.

It's definitely a problem
I even offered to pay some serious gold to someone, for a certain drop. Only, to discover that cross-realm gold transfers are not allowed.
The LFG also won't allow potion transfers, dangit! Couldn't it at least allow you to transfer useful items (like potions) over... and then, those items would go onto an autodelete list, not continuing with a person back to their realm? (It would sure make some things easier)

Run dungeons in the old way and you can roll need on what you want.

Much, much harder to get a group on. Especially because, those who were spamming TradeChat for a group, are now seeking the LFG.
Another double-edged sword is that, if you find a group of people you particularly
enjoy playing with
in a 5-man, you will likely never, ever see them again. Bummer. (Or, if you find a bad group, thank heaven you'll
never have to see them again!

This won't work if it's a green item. Only blues and above (along with conjured food/water) can be traded cross-realm.
Also, you can't roll need on armor lower than your best armor class when you get to Outland. For vanilla dungeons, you can need on everything.

Just to throw it out there, hunters can roll on leather and mail.

The reason why you cant roll on
different
pieces
is because you're a druid and have leather items with spellpower gear on it, its pretty simple. They know this would happen but its the easiest way to avoid straight up @#$%^&* ninjas needing things they dont need just for some laughs. And like others have said if you dont like the rules to a random make your own.

Allow me to introduce you to my friend, Mr Murphy...
It does bother me sometimes that my Druid (Chicken/Firewood) can't Need on Cloth, and since I'm a 450 Enchanter, most everything that isn't Need rolled is D/E rolled. I've gotten used to just rolling straight Greed and crying a little inside when I see my upgrade get sharded.

Yeah. Thought of rolling a Priest with Tailoring/Enchanting. And I've been anticipating this issue. Oh well.. what can you do? You still reap the benefits of cheaper mats, right? (And will still level faster than you could, otherwise)
Another way is to queue with a friend/guildie of the requisite armor class. Then simply have them roll need on it, and trade it to you.
Not fully kosher, having a non-caster roll on some things I might want. But yeah... I've reaped the benefits of grouping with several of my pals, a few times. =)

Well, a Priest/Mage/Warlock wouldn't be as bad, you can still NEED on Cloth Upgrades. My Druid's problem is the inability to NEED on Cloth, only leather (after a certain level, not sure where the restriction kicks in).
