It might be worthwhile to save up your quest log and do turn in a bunch of quests to get that little boost. But as the above poster said, TBC Quests//Dungeons gave a lot less experience than starter zone WotLK Quests/Dungeons.
That being said, I'll be logging my toon our somewhere in either Stormwind or Ironforge to avoid the massive lag of everyone logging into Dalaran at the same time.
Everybody is going to park their mains there... go to outlands.

I'm gonna crank it up to the extreme, I'll leave mine in area 52, :P the most remote, deserted empty location of the whole game.
I'd leave my toon in desolace, but since it's getting a facelift, my toon would prolly be ported to thunderbluff or orgrimar.
and if u're alliance there's an even more deserted place you can log off to save up lag, Darnassus is a GHOST TOWN.
I just did the elders of the alliance achievement, and it was quite easy on stormwind just enter via the new harbor, rush to the park, talk to the elder, jump on the water to lose guards and curious players, and heart out.
Ironforge was a bit harder, just storm in the front door, turn left, then right, then jump on the small trench on the ground to lose the guards and avoid players, take the ramp up talk to the elder, and heart out.
Darnassus was a roya piece of cake, that place is a ghost town, I was able to get in, talk to elder, shoot tyrande with my pelt rifle, run to dolaanar for the other elder, explore all of teldrasil for the achievement, kill 5 guards who dismounted me on the way back, and still make it out of there without seeing a single player high or low lvl.
it's really the most deserted zone in all of wow.

lol... clearly you havent been in exodar coz iv been there on 4 diffrent servers all whit high player amounts and darnassus got a trafic jam compared to what you see in the exodar coz every time iv been in darnassus iv seen atleast 3 allys during the first minute and in exodar i can go /who when on a ally and see only myself on the list and if im a horde i run around for 20 minutes and give up coz there will be no-one there
and the only place more of a ghost place than are 52 (whit out including the exodar) is the 1 flight path towards north from there and ill be damnd if you can remember that places name whit out checking it

On release, you're likely to see your quest log either purged, or your completed quests revoked in status to incomplete (e.g. if you killed 10/10 it would list 0/10, if you had all the items you needed they would remove them from your inventory) to prevent people from jumping up 500k XP at once for 25 completed quests.
Also, most Netherstorm quests were 12k-15k XP, whereas in Borean Tundra (slightly higher level range) it jumps to 20k XP. Icecrown tends to be 22k-27k, and you'll probably see numbers in the 35k-40k XP range per turn-in in Mt Hyjal.
Here's the basic formulae for XP for a mob your level (found
here
):
XP = (Char Level * 5) + 45, where Char Level = Mob Level, for mobs in Azeroth
XP = (Char Level * 5) + 235, where Char Level = Mob Level, for mobs in Outland
XP = (Char Level * 5) + 580, where Char Level = Mob Level, for mobs in Northrend
Elites = 2*XP
5-man groups you get ~28% of the XP (elites would be 56%)
Using the numbers from the previous x-pacs, I'm going to ballpark the new constant for Cataclysm as 1000 (if it's a more linear progression it will be less, if it's a more exponential progression it will be more). So you'd be looking at (we're doing 400 for Char Level * 5):
WotLK Heroic XP = (400+580)*0.56 = 548
Cata Solo XP = 400+1000 = 1400
I think it'd be better to go to new content.

With the dungeon finder added a few months ago, I think pretty much everyone that has an 80, is now sick to death of the WOTLK dungeons. I was in Old Kingdom the other days and was thinking "God I hate this dungeon" then realized I am sick of them all now.

If you're geared enough, hitting the new dungeons directly will probably be better. Make a 5 person group and go nuts.

Considering these heroics have mobs ranging from 80-83, do you think it would be viable to level to 85 just by running these old heroics without setting foot into new content?
The thing is, you will have to be leveling at 80, 81, 82, 83, 84. By 85 you're done leveling.
So first level is 80->81. I doubt you can solo heroics now, so you can't start leveling like that. I doubt you could even solo it at 83->84. By 84, I'm guessing you'd want new-blues, not ilevel 200 epics, so it would make sense to run new instances.

He didn't mean solo them.
