Darnavan is fairly simple. Entangling Roots works the best, just keep him away from the tanks' AoE.
1. CC
2. Kite the Bladestorm
3. re-CC
4. ?
5. Profit

My guild kept Darnavan alive on our first try, though we can dangerously close to killing him. It was kind of funny...we were all wondering how he was getting hurt, and I think it turned out that either someone had a damage shield, or the warrior's auto-attacks were killing him. We switched to having a Frost (DPS) DK tank him. The DK was banned from attacking Darnavan, and we dropped Deathwhisper as normal.
I've never seen us fail on the weekly, though we came close with the Rotface/Festergut one. It was kind of a fluke though, as we were adjusting to some substitutions in our raid comp.

ya if you have a boomkin there is nothing easier than keeping darnavan alive. the first time we got the quest we tried to have my Voidwalker tank him. The voidwalker got him to low health then i put him on passive and he just stod there and took shots like a champ lol. we did wipe though because once we got the mana sheild down the healers let my Voidwalker die and darnavan ran around one shotting people. thats when we went with the boomkin had no problems since.

A somewhat worse thing is when the ICC weekly ruins your guilds Lady Deathwhisper Hard Mode progression.
