The world was shattered beyond anything a dragon could cause, fifty long years ago.
After the defeat of Deathwing and his dark, mysterious forces, we cheered and celebrated. We were free of oppression - or so we believed. In all honesty, we were stupid. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and it never fails to annoy you with the incessant ‘I told you so’s. It was so obvious; why didn’t we see it before? I fear that our misjudgements have cost us far too much.
Azshara and her submerged forces arrived a mere few weeks after the fall of the Earth-warder, dealing a crushing blow to the mortals. Her first strike was against Stormwind; which faced the Azshari’s full wrath and is still in ruins. The city was taken in a few hours, and it is said that King Varian’s head still acts as a decoration in the Empress’ palace of Zin-Azshari. Almost simultaneously the capital of the Horde, Orgrimmar, fell in a tsunami which washed across the harsh deserts of Durotar and parts of the not-so-barren-Barrens. Garrosh’s head is apparently mounted next to Varian’s, which strikes me as disturbing.
Following this swathe of destructive power, the naga set to rid themselves of their former people, the kaldorei. Darnassus was destroyed by magic, not like anything I have ever heard of before! Elune protected those that she could from the Highbourne’s wrath, but Malfurion Stormrage was killed, leaving Tyrande distraught; eventually committing suicide to join him in the realm of the goddess.
The Exodar was the next target, but the arcane and holy charms held strong; repelling the magic that the naga utilised against them. The remaining Night Elves take refuge in the lands of the Exiled Ones to this very day, Shandris Feathermoon having hunted for Maiev Shadowsong and her brother, Jarod (who she apparently holds a candle for). The warden was easy to find, fighting an army of naga - But hope for Jarod is dwindling with each passing day. I hope they are not too late. There are rumours of tension between Shadowsong and Feathermoon, but they have not yet been openly confirmed. Broll Bearmantle has taken control over the tattered remains of the Cenarion Circle.
The survivors of Stormwind have not been complacent, evacuating their people and marching through the burning steppes for Ironforge. The dwarven city holds fast against any naga opponents; Housing the gnomes and the refugee humans.
Theramore’s people would have been obliterated by the same tsunami that crushed Orgrimmar, had guardian Med’an not bestowed his powers upon me while he held the wave at bay long enough for the people and myself to escape before it collapsed, engulfing the city whole. We escaped to Dalaran; a floating bastion over an almost completely underwater Northrend. The Ashen Verdict still hold some ground, and Ulduar still stands. The Wyrmrest temple is inaccessible to non-Dragons, but it still stands for the accord.
The Azshari rushed into Gilneas, subjugating King Liam. His children fled the city with the few people that could be hastily gathered, and teleported to Dalaran, the city almost overflowing. Thunder Bluff fell to a coup by the Naga-aligned-Grimtotem tribe, Baine’s corpse tossed off of the risen mesas. The remaining Tauren that were not wiped out by their zealous cousins fled, and hide in the Desolace, trying to keep little attention to themselves.
The undead were manipulated by Azshara and her most powerful casters, and are under their influence completely. Alleria Windrunner has returned, announced herself as leader of the Quel’dorei and has taken Northeron with the Wildhammer dwarves, Aerie peak having been obliterated with the Arathi Highlands and the Hillsbrad foothills. Quel’thalas is a sanctuary; the naga being lenient with their relatives. However, the Blood Elves are fearful of an attack and have strengthened their defensive runes. The Sunwell is under elven control, and is now the only major fountain of power in Azeroth not under the Azshari’s control.
The Goblins and Trolls have not fared well either, both relatively young cities being destroyed by the Naga hastily. However, the Goblins have control of the mountains of Azshara, where trolls and orcs also reside, deciding how best to survive.
Generally, Azeroth is chaotic and I do not know how it has survived so many catastrophes. Small pockets of resistance remain outside of the sanctuaries, but they remain mere droplets in the ocean. Stranglethorn Vale, Duskwood and Westfall have sunk, and the wetlands have been reclaimed by the sea. As the new guardian, it is my job to help Azeroth; but it is extremely difficult. The Highboune Queen rules our land with an iron fist, and is a ruthless enemy. Hope yet remains, but we must tread carefully. For over four decades the Naga have oppressed us all, the people of Azeroth. Tensions are rising as land and food becomes more and more scarce - but a ever more strained peace remains between the few survivors.

Jailine Sunspreader
Quel'danas
Description:
Jailine is a Blood Elf mage, with great respect for her new Queen. She has red hair, piercing green eyes and sharp, symetrical features. She wears a rich, purple robe and has a magical familiar - a black cat called Mist.
Jailine sat down on the grassy banks, leaning back on a tree as she rummaged through her bag for something. She pulled out a blue book with some strange inscriptions on it, and the mage opened the book. Mist chased a mouse which she had noticed nearby, running quickly to catch its prey.

You know her by now.
"C'mon.." She said to the Kal'Dorei tourists, who were visiting Bloodmyst isle from the Exodar. "You need to get back, Naga used to reside here, you never know when they strike again" Every one of the tourists shivered at the name. "Quickly, before the queen catches your sent." They quickly climbed onto the Talbuks, which it seems the Kal'Dorei enjoyed riding. Mazani climbed to her Ellekk. "Lets go."

Jailine Sunspreader
Isle of Quel'danas
The sin'dorei dipped a grey quill into a glass container of ink, and began making annotations in her book. Mist ran back and dropped the dead animal at Jailine's feet, wide-eyed. The mage stroked her familiar behind its ears and it began to purr.

((Can you describe what the minions of the Old God would be like in this, or is that just left to my own artistic license? Or can we not be one period?))

The elf frowned. "That's wrong," She sighed as she noticed another error in her

book and crossed it out aggressively. She placed the quill behind one of her long ears, and burnt the mouse. Mist began eating it, chewing violently.

Quel'Danas
Sazjinar is a Naga from the Hatecrest who left to heed the call of Queen Aszhara. When he got there he noticed that naga from his old group had joined. He fit in quite quick, although stood out. The reason he stood out was because he was of a rare born naga. The scale colour of him was red (Same as High Warlord Najentus). He is a shocking 8ft 10inches tall and wields a rare, powerful weapon know as the Storm of the Great Sea. Quick;y, he rose through the ranks, answering the call of the queen and the unseen master.
Sazjinar swam idly in the ocean around the Isle of Quel'Danas. In his hand, his great trident flickered with energy, sensing the sunwell. "Sssoon you will get the ehergy you need" he said to himself, and the trident.

Character: General Khumath'ulooh, commander of the depths.
Location: Nazjatar
Every Old God has an avatar race. Every avatar race has two things. A religious leader, and a war leader. Khumath'ulooh is the general of the R'lyain the avatar race of the mysterious Old God of the depths. They appear as an abomination of all the aquatic species, from kraken to hydra to murloc. Khumath'ulooh is a massive behemoth, standing as high as the great elemental Ragnaros. He has a humanoid body, with an immense torso, the lines of muscles on which almost represented those of a human. It's arms were relatively thin, though only in comparison to his size. His hands were immense, with large palms, and long thin spidery fingers reaching to his knees, with small bits of webbing at the bases. Long, thick legs, with the reptilian feet of a raptor, without the single erect clawed toe. His head resembled that of an octopus in itself, a thick bulb shaped skull which elongated into a writhing mass of six tentacles, surrounding and hiding a circular maw. Two thin eyes appeared just above the tentacles as he blinked. His eyes were a deep navy blue. His body was dark green, and in some places he seemed to have scales. Two long wing like appendages sprouted from his back, but instead of flying they were grown with the purpose of using them as massive fins.

Sisters of the long dead Aelnon of Telredor, Kelnarie and Shendra are proud members of the Draenei race. Kelnarie followed in her older sister's footsteps and is a paladin of the Light, rising to rank of Vindicator before the madness of Azshara began. Shendra is a protege of Nobundo, the old Broken Draenei training her in the arts of Shamanism for many years; and recently she attained the rank of Farseer.
The two are on a mission for both the Prophet and the triumvirate that leads the Night Elves; find evidence of Jarod Shadowsong within Teldrassil as he was last seen there.
"By the Naaru." Shendra murmured as the sisters picked their way through the destroyed island that had once been the World Tree Teldrassil. "Hush Shen." Kelnarie said, looking over at her sister and narrowing her eyes, tightening her grip on the greathammer she carried.
"Sorry, sorry, I'm not used to this stalking business of yours." Shen grumbled, looking around them as they continued through the ruined underbrush. "Shen." Kel said with a sigh, and her sister chuckled. "Your so uptight sis." Shen laughed quietly, then stopped, and held out her hand, feeling a sense of power nearby. "This way." She motioned, pulling out the crystal given to them by the Night Elf leaders.
The two ran quietly towards the center of the island, both keeping watch around them.

Jailine Sunspreader
Isle of Quel'danas
Mist's hair stood up and began hissing, looking outwards at sea. "Don't worry, they can't get us here," She murmured as she looked upwards, expecting to see a giant bubble or something.
"I always forget they are invisible charms..."
The sin'dorei thought, burying her nose in her book once again, quill in hand.

Character: Kelnarie and Shendra of Telredor
Location: Ruins of Teldrassil
"Is it him?" Kel asked, her weapon held ready as she kept watch on the undergrowth around her. Shen shook her head, her eyes closed as she reached out to the Wilds, shuddering slightly at the immense pain still radiating from the dead tree.
I'm so sorry my friend, I wish I could end this pain for you.
She thought quietly, placing a hand on the ground then pulled her hand back and opened her eyes in shock.
"What?" Kel asked, looking at her and Shen frowned as she looked around, pulling the staff off her back. "There's something here... something... tainted." She told her sister, and moved closer to her, feeling eyes on her now that she had touched whatever it was.
