I do it in hopes the noob considers that he isnt that far and should switch to Horde. Also I'm on a Normal server anyway so they have to attack first.

The entire point of ganking is to make the game less fun for others. Now, as to whether or not you like or participate in it, that's entirely up to each individual player.

I only gank Blood Elves. Because I hate them, and it's fun. Hopefully, if I gank enough, no one will roll one anymore.

On a PvP server, ganking doesn't need to be justified in any way. It's a PvP server. That's the point.
Um. This.
Thread over.
I believe Ganking is alright in any case as long as you dont camp their corpse for ages that I cant respect at all especialy if your doing it to a low level your wasting your own time and their time and theirs is obviosly more valueble anyway if your doing it.
Actually, this. Ganking is a part of leveling on a PvP server, get over it. Camping lowbies, just for the sake of camping lowbies, is weak. There's no need.

When I gank someone, I typically camp their corpse if I don't have to be at a raid or something soon. Usually one of 2 things happen.
1) They get on an 80 and I get me some good world PvP. Always a blast.
2) They keep ressing continuously and, knowing how frustrating it is, laugh at them. Why?
Because, as much as everyone hates to admit it, its fun to be a ^&*! in an online game.
Log on to xbox live and play one match of CoD:MW2 and you'll see it happens in every game.
So its a win-win.
Oh, and one last thing:
You rolled a PvP server.
This is exactly what PvP servers are for. Stop complaining about a decision
you
made.

Because I've been ganked numerous times when I was a low level, therefore I must pass the tradition.

I have no issue ganking a player who chose a name I disagree with or find somewhat irksome or annoying (especially juvenile). Those people deserve more time spirit running, I feel.

First, let me say that I think of ganking as killing someone you know has no chance to successfully fight back.
This seems to be what Rogues are designed for. Especially, when taking on one of the Clothies. And, there are no Blizzard punishments for this behavior, as far as I'm aware. And so, it seems to me that Blizzard gives tacit approval to the practice, at the very least. More realistically, they
designed the game
this way.
As far as ganking, in my own thinking?
I only kill a lower-level toon (as in, greater than five levels below myself... or, several lower-level toons in a pack) if they initiate the attack against myself. Including, when I am entering an enemy city for the sake of an achievement. (Such as, with the Lunar Festival)
I don't feel any particular desire to ruin someone else's day.
However... after being mistreated by so many Alliance types, I've lost a bit of my typically gregarious nature towards them. I'm sure it perpetuates the "cycle of violence", but there is something to be said for getting satisfaction. And, coming back to my original statements, Blizzard maintains the game in such a way to encourage a certain level of Alliance/Horde antipathy. They
want
us disliking one another.

Weirdly enough i don't kill people when i'm playing horde, it's probably due to my classes/spec (Arcane mage and a feral druid) however, i get on my Ally warrior and it's completely different
Though usually i'll let people go in peace, whatever, until they attack me. And when they do, 7/10 times they regret that decision. Especially since they're gonna get camped for doing so.
Of course, i can also be a @#$% and just steal kills from lowbies too, that's also fun. Don't like it? roll pve server.

It's a disease.
When I leveled my main through all 79 levels, there were moments when the Horde ganked me mercilessly. You kinda get sick of it, and the hatred and frustration builds up.
Then when it's your turn, you go all out, and kill whoever you see, maybe with the hope of that guy being an alt who ganked you in the first place.
Plus, it's fun killing.
You have to admit, killing is what makes this game appealing.
You PvP cos you want to kill
You kill bosses in PvE so you can get better gear to kill more bosses.

Did i just read right? Ganking - What's the point? lol. heres a few.
They Have Ganked you in the past
Its fun tbh,
ok ok, i WILL admit, ganking lv 10's is low. but like 79's and 80s that are doing dailies? i believe that to be not only sometimes a surprising challenge but also not just a 'one hit wonder'.
Im the type of guy who parks his main near the alt so that if i get killed i gank them mercilessly.
Oh and for the record, PVP is allways posing new challenges, no 2 arena's are the same (Tactic ways) and the fact that once youve mastered PVE it is a boring crawl to continue doing bosses you have allready defeated 100s of times.
