If it's like KH and FF12; there's the extra art books/poster maps and the like.

I've never understood final fantasy. I always thought it was humorous that there are so many sequals to something called
final
fantasy.

It was the ailing company's last attempt before bankruptcy heh. But it's just one of those things; like
Final Destination
.

And they're not all sequels. FF 1-13 are all different story lines and characters.
My mistake.

The Final Fantasy series really isn't a bunch of sequels. The only two that are connected would have to be Final Fantasy X and X-2. Aside from that, they all have different sets of characters, story lines, worlds, ideals, etc.
And they're not all sequels. FF 1-13 are all different story lines and characters.
FFX and X-2 are related. Yuna and Rikku are both there, as well as the same existing races. The style is a bit different, but overall, X-2 is a sequel.
You are such a nerd. I mean that as a compliment.
Concerning final fantasy: ok (that's all the entusiasm i can muster)

There are sequels to the games themselves; for example FF7 with Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core and the others. But over all, the games themselves don't tie together. And then there's Dissida which has all the 'best' heroes and villains kicking the hell out of each other heh.

I love the series, shh you.
Well, TBH, I did; not so much anymore. FFXII was terrible and FFXIII isn't going so well. They are leaning away from mysticism and towards technology. I prefered the older style of FF rather than the newer one.
FF8 was all about the Tech.... and FF9 was the polar opposite heh.
They'll probably keep that pattern up for the rest of the series; one overly tech game followed by a more fantasy one. I mean, 10 was pretty Tech heavy too heh, while 12 was more mystical.

Yeah, I forgot about FF8. I played about 2 hours and then never touched the game again; I hated it. FFX had some technology in it, well quite a bit with the Al Bhed, but it wasn't overwhelming like in FFXII and FFXIII. The two seem to have lost the mystic and magical feel that they used to have.
12... really? Beyond the airships/mechas there isn't that much tech in the game; no worse then FF6 or FF7 really. 10 had more tech to my eyes but that was because of the Spheres, the Blitzball stadiums and all the rest.

Hm, maybe not as technological as it was military-orientated, but it still had a very mechanical feel to it. The games are starting to feel more like Star Wars and less like Final Fantasy.
Heh, can I direct your attention to the Empire of FF6 and Shinra Company of FF7? There no worse then the Empire of 12.

That's true, but it wasn't in the same league as the Star Wars military. I guess I have to get a bit further in XIII to really say, but so far, everything is about flying ships, mechanical monsters, and military. Even the classes are all military: Commando, Ravager, Sentinel, Synergist, Saboteur and Medic. They may not all
be
military classifications, but they don't have the same feel as Priest, Black Mage, Thief, Bard, Summoner, etc. Summons are existant, but no one class is a Summoner.
I'm going to go put a few more hours into XIII and see how it goes. Hopefully it picks up.
Honestly sounds like 8 on steroids heh.

Yeah, I don't think I'm going to enjoy it. I'll give it a fair shot, it's 3 CD's so maybe it'll take some time to get things rolling. I'm not liking the fact that you play as one character so far though, rather than have full control of your entire team.
Even though I say I don't like the technological/military feel in the games, FFX was one of my favourites :P
6, 9, with 8 and 7(and the sequels prequels) are my top four for the rpg universe while Tactics for the PS was one of the absolute best. 10/10-2 weren't bad but the love sub-plot was really cheesy.
