I'm going to do a report on the Elausian Syndrome, a contagious mental state in which you have the urge to post your unimportant and trivial ideas for no identifiable reason other than simply because you can, to exercise your freedom, whether or not people respect you for it or not. Very common on anonymous chat-room type sights, where you feel distance and unaffected by peoples opinion.

I personally prefer the quadratic formula.
What about you?
Its been a while since math class, is there another way?
FOIL. Or I suppose the whats-his-name's Pyramid.

I don't remember enough about 7th grade math to respond in a meaningful way to this thread...
But I do remember using the quadratic equation was a pain. It took fooooooooooooooooooorever!
Until you found out to program it into a graphing calculator.
*whips out calculator*

I do believe he's trying to get his threads locked,
to prove a point to the mods
.
Or Elaus has hacked his account. I'm going for the former though.
As for quadratics (ax^2 + bx + c = 0), I used to have much success with a large X-based approach that looked like:
3x 5
\ /
\/
/ \
/ \
2x 2
where:
1) Top left * bottom left = ax^2
2) Top left * bottom right + bottom right * top left (i.e. along the X) = bx
3) Top right * bottom right = c
Could never remember what this method was called. But it was the most intuitive way of solving things that I encountered. Only problem was that it wasn't ever very effective in real life problems.
