Hours and hours (and hours) of grinding the ICC 5-mans and I still don't have it. Did I say hours? And hours?
I know there is an argument that says: "But it's bind on equip! You can just buy it at the auction house! You're not being restricted!"
Technically, that is correct.
But now the expectation is that I have to spend days and days playing day trader at the auction house or go skin gorillas in Sholozar Basin until I have worn my fingerprints off.
So ... there's my suggestion. Open up the quest line to everybody without changing the odds on getting the reward at the end. That way, the people who want to run Halls of Refliction fifty million times just for a chance to get the epic can still do so.
It's going to take a long time either way. You can go with the small chance to get it quickly, and the much larger chance that it'll take a long (
long
) time, or the guaranteed drop after a few days (maybe weeks if you're slow) of farming.
Besides, if you have your loremaster and breadwinner achievements from questing, the money can't possibly still be that much of a barrier, can it?

Curse you, Blizzard.
The main reason I have played this game for so very long is that I enjoy the solo content. I don't mind grouping for 5-mans or running some battlegrounds from time to time, but for me, questing is where it is at. I enjoy opening up especially long quest chains. I'm not looking for a hand out piece of gear at the end of every quest chain I complete. I just want to experience the story.
But let's face it. After years of playing through the game, there aren't very many quests left to complete. If you've completed nearly every quest, then you have easily earned enough to buy three hilts. I know people that have done so and completed the quest on multiple characters.
If you are too cheap to do so, or wasted all your gold already, then it isn't that hard to farm enough to buy one. You could have easily farmed enough to buy 2 of them in the months since the hilt was added.

I agree, I just want to get the hilt so I can enjoy the quest line, the rewards don't interest me at all (no tanking weapon lol). I'm not great at money making nor do I enjoy it and I have little patience to grind the instances, but I love epic quest chains.
