Edit: I was not aware Ladies of The Night was filtered...
I prefer "women of negotiable affection", personally. Long live the Seamstresses Guild!
Thanks, Terry Pratchett. :)

Gear score is for bad players with good gear and people who cry about gear score are players who know they suck and they need all the help they can get. My guild is more social and I have never been asked about my stupid gear score. I am so glad for my guild. Took me 2 years to find them and they make the game so much better. Look for social guild that raids, makes raiding more fun and you will enjoy the game more.

No, people who complain about gearscore are rational people with a working brain who realize that Gearscore is the most flawed addon of its kind.

If I had the time, and the resources to record the video/Vent audio, I would buy the highest level, most useless gear possible for my class/spec, and then see how many raids I could get into and wipe, based solely on having a high GS.
I wonder how long it would take them to notice that a Shaman was healing wearing mail melee gear gemmed and enchanted with nothing but Spirit and ArP bonuses...

Now I regret spending 200-something Emblems of Frost on Saronite to sell. >_<

Many high end raiders are GS obssessed, i've had 2 or 3 people in my guild like that, (i would kick them if i wouldn't have been given alot of grief about it). I did ICC 10 when i had 4800 GS as an OT and 4672 as DPS and no one cared. Anyway, my advice, is get to a fairly new raiding guild, they won't care about GS.

I would disagree with that. My guild is full of high end raiders, and no one gives two squirts about GearScore, other than the passing lol-factor of "Neat, I'm at 6394 Gearscore." It's a weak-meaninged High Score board for high end raiders.
The people who actually care about gearscore come in two forms. One are the Pug Leaders who require very high gearscores. They do this either because they themselves want to get carried, or they feel that requiring a high gearscore will make for a smoother raid . The second type are the poorly gear scrubs who don't have good gearscores who are ticked off when they can't get into PuGs.
The people who actually have really good gear don't care about Gearscore, other than for casually used High Score primping. High End Raiders have other things to worry about, like maximizing the effect of their gear and gems. If anything, High End Raiders are the ones who understand the DMC:G is a great trinket even though it's ilvl 200, and that using Frost Emblem +Hit trinkets just for the GS is total failure.

When wotlk was launched we used to run instances with a tank with 25k life, a healer with 1500sp and 10k mana and the dps'ers doing ~1200 dps each.
Wait, what? There is no reason to do less than 2k dps with quest greens/blues at level 80. My level 67 warlock with greens and blues is doing 1.2k dps...
The same warlock also has 8k mana. I smell a serious problem/exaggeration...

When we had to form our own Heroic groups, we let anyone who could pull 1k slide unless he was just bad in general. You needed at least 2.5k to get into our raids though.

To anyone fed up with GS:
Go to Alexstrasza and look up Gades and Superpally. They do For the Hordes more than raids, but when they do raids they have wicked low GS requierments. Usually, if you meet the min lvl, you'll be at least what they want for GS.
Granted, we are usually hitting BC raids more than northrend ones, but who doesn't love a good setback?

No, not a problem or exaggeration. Hell, 25k health on the tank is probably ambitious. It was usually around 21k.
EDIT: Oh, and I depise Gearscore. And I have a fairly high one myself. OH WELL. Not much I can do about it other than loathe it. Those who say it hasn't affected the community... well, you're silly. It has, whether or not you want to see it. Inspecting never happens anymore, I've had friends use cloth when they're a tank and other silly stuff to bump up their GS numbers and see how many people we could "WOW" in Dalaran.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is that GS is not the problem. Lazy people are. And unfortunately that's not something any of us can fix.
You can also get nearly (or over some say) 5k just from the new Heroics and Emblem of Triumph gear. You're first piece of Frost gear isn't going to be too bad either if you do your daily random, daily Ahune (until the 5th), and weekly raid.
