That is true, don't do too many 25man pugs but in voa for example I never seem to come close to using viper. This is however in much better gear nowadays too. And for grinding, RR is a godsent :P But indeed, they share leftovers until arcane shot is dropped.
It is probably that which made me the happiest (sad I know) when I reached a good enough level of gear to drop arcane shot, 2/2 RR and 3/3 ISS rocks, especially when using SS so much more due to dropping arcane.

You link Flexweave but not Hyperspeed Accelerators or Nitro Boosts?
And you don't mention Tuskarr's or Cat's?
WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, MAN?

Rockets if you don't have 2p T10, Accelerators if you do.

Rockets if you don't have 2p T10, Accelerators if you do.
Hmmm that sounds interesting, I did not think about 2xT10. Are you sure Accelerators are better, over the (amazing) rocket?
Edit:
I found this (official forums):
- You must be standing still for the full 12 seconds to get the full benefit of the hyperspeed accelerators, whereas you can fire the rocket on the move
- I am gemmed for armor penetration. If your Auto Shots don't hit as hard as mine, then your benefit from the hyperspeed accelerators will be lower.
- The pyro rockets' full effect can fit within a Misdirection, they have a 45-yard range
And this (somewhat funny)
the haste is higher dps IF:
you pop them every CD with out wasting any time.
you use every last once of the haste in a full on stand still tunnel vision dps rotation
the rockets are better if:
mess up any of the above even a little bit one time.
you live in the real world.

All I know is that as soon as I got my second piece of T10, the Accelerators started simulating at about 40-50 DPs higher than the rockets.
Therefore, I use the Accelerators. I noticed overall gains in WoL parses - I'm not complaining.

I don't get how the Accelerators can be better for Hunters in any situation.
It's because of the stacking effect. Here's
a thread
about it. I think you commented in this thread.
I use to use rocket gloves which hit for about 1-2k damage. If I get an extra auto shot/steady shot in there, the auto shot/steady shot alone does more damage already. Throw in Wild Quiver procs and the extra haste boost would already deal more damage than the old rocket gloves.
With 60 second CD, it's on each time I'm ready for my steady spam. The trick is to use it right as you start your 4x Steady Shot spam between Chimera shots. If you save it for Rapid Fire and BL/Heroism and also pop a haste potion, you will be firing off steady shots faster than you know.

I actually have my gloves macro-bound to every shot, similar to Kill Command and Silencing Shot.
Like I said, it ensures that I'm getting as many Auto Shots in as fast as I can at the start of the fight (since I've also pre-potted Speed and have Rapid Fire active) to try and fish an Exploit Weakness proc and re-sting with it.

I'm curious in know what everyone's usage of CD's is. I read on MMO that you can get 4 rapid fires in for a 4 min fight. I'm use to saving
Readiness
for the end with Kill shotting, but with a 3 min CD it might be worth it to blow at the beginning of the fight and hopefully have it again at the end.
Before the pull I generally get my
Mark
on the boss,
MD
up, and traps set before hand if possible.
I then autoshoot the first shot to proc the pet's
Call of the Wild
, followed immediately by Serpent Sting. Then I blow all my shots, Chimera, Aimed, Silencing, Kill Command, etc. I pop my engineering gloves
Hyperspeed Acceleration
+
Rapid Fire
+
Speed Pot
and spam steady's till my Chimera shot is back up.
At this point when
Rapid Fire
ends, I could use
Readiness
to have it back up and available again for combination of other shots on CD + engineering gloves back up. I still need to setup a mod like power auras to tell me when the T10 bonuses proc. That would be the best time to actually put and keep the serpent sting on the boss, but it's hard to judge that when my mods don't tell me that.
The best time to use serpent sting is when the T10
2P Bonus
+ T10
4P Bonus
+
Call of the Wild
+
WFS
proc
+
DBW
proc
all proc. But that would mean the stars aligned and you know the very second they all proc'ed. Does anyone have any suggestions for a mod that tells you such things? I heard about power auras but I never got past the full customization you needed to get it to work.

I wrote a blog post about that
.
Also, do not compute any +AP procs into when you want to re-sting. Chimera Shot re-calculates Attack Power at the time of firing when it refreshes Serpent.
Your best bet is Exploit Weakness (15% bonus damage) + Culling the Herd (3% bonus damage) + any +Crit modifiers, if you still have 2p T9.

Is this true? I heard from other places that it isn't. Wow, totally confused now.
Btw, I enjoyed your other thread Rilgon. Good stuffs, keep it up.

Correct. Chimera Shot recalculates Attack Power -
and only Attack Power
- at the time it's fired.
It does NOT recalculate +%Damage buffs or +%Crit buffs (if you have 2p T9), meaning that your best potential Serpent Sting is:
2p T10 proc (15% damage) + Culling the Herd (3% damage) + Potion of Wild Magic (200 crit) + Crit H-DBW proc (700 Crit) + Curse of Elements (13% damage) + Tricks of the Trade (15% damage)
I've done it before, but with a 600 Crit proc (as I don't have H-DBW) before. It was disgustingly awesome.
