Haste ... there is no haste cap. There is no point at which you want to stop stacking haste. We cannot reach the point where additional haste is no longer useful (unlike hit rating).
There is the concept of a "softcap". The point at which the GCD drops to it's absolute minimum of 1 second. And with it, Lava Burst and Chain Lightning do not gain any further benefit in a standing fight, and our shocks are the best they can be.
LvB and CL still get value in moving fights, because they may have their cast times reduced to a point where you can afford to stop long enough to cast them. Shocks are instants and have always been constrained by the GCD.
Lightning Bolt however, is still a longer cast than the GCD, so will still be affected by additional haste. And as of 3.3.3, our FS Dot also gains from additional haste. Both of these still gain full benefit from haste, beyond our current ability to stack.
So, what is this "soft cap". Well, with our WoA totem and the %3 buff from raid sources (Boomkin's
Improved Moonkin Form talent comes to mind), that number is 1269. Taking the 220 from our
Bizuri's Totem leaves us with 1049 static haste.
After that, the value of haste drops to somewhere between spell power and crit. Until then, spell power and haste are roughly equal in value.
Please note though, that haste is still more valueable than crit. So your priority in stacking stats doesn't change at all. And having more than 1049 static haste isn't like being hit capped, where the extra hit is 100% wasted.
