I was riding around in Elwynn Forest when a lvl 20 draenei asked in general chat where he could buy a horse. So I whispered him the mount vendor was at Eastvale Logging Camp. He didn't know where that was and I spent about 10 mins explaining him how to get there with him saying 'I can't find it!'. When he finally found it, he told me 'but there is no vendor!' and at that point I decided to break it to him: as a draenei you need to be exalted with Stormwind before you can buy a horse. He then insisted he was exalted... Which to me, you know, seemed sliiiiightly impossible for a clueless lvl 20 that had clearly not even been in Elwynn Forest yet. So I asked him 'are you sure you do not mean honored/revered?' etc, and explained him a little how the rep system worked. He still insisted he was exalted. I then had to go, so I left him on his fruitless mount search.
The next day I saw him again in Elwynn, so I asked him 'hey B, did you get your mount yet?' and again expressed my doubt about a level 20 being exalted.. I made a little fun of him, but I was nice, really! :D He then nerdraged and said something like 'NO I AM EXALTED ^%!#@%$#!' and politely informed me that he was gonna put me on his ignore list now. So that was that, I was ignored!
I did feel a little sorry so I logged into an alt and whispered him I only wanted to help him really, and that if he needed some better explanation about the rep or anything else he was welcome to ask. He then confessed to me he had indeed no clue about the rep and had lied to me about being exalted. Haha :D
To this day, he still whispers me out of the blue with extremely random noobie questions ^_^

Calling a mage by "Mage" after they rolled need on some leather bracers I needed at level 30ish on my rogue. Went something along the lines of: (Note that the blue the mage refers to is the dog training whistle off of Houndermaster Lokey or whatever his name is, which everyone in the group rolled need on but the mage)
Me rolls 41.
Mage rolls 57.
Me: I didn't know mages needed leather attack bracers :P
Mage: first off, i have a name, it's ______, I dont appreciate being called mage, secondly, when you rolled need on a *expletive* blue that i need for disenchanting ill roll need on stuff i need for enchanting
Me: Except that I was actually going to use the bracers?
Mage: your ignored so dont bother responding hypocrite
I then proceeded to write out a long and lengthy argument to the mage, only to have someone lovingly show me the "your ignored" part after a full length essay. :)
I then proceeded to /pet the mage the rest of the run to entertain myself, receiving /slaps in return.

You do realize that nobody has
ever
got in trouble for this?
How could you possibly know? Answer: you can't. So why pretend you do?
You're a bit too safe/paranoid/scared over your account if you're afraid to exploit that boss.
No, I just have something you apparantly lack: ethics.
Regardless of what you think, deliberately bugging encounters is expressly forbidden in the CoC.
Can you link me the part of the CoC that says that?
And by the way, bugging an encounter is not unethical. Its a game. There is no party or person that is hurt by bugging an encounter.
Don't worry so much about ethics when it doesn't make sense. Try tackling something hard.
O yeah, and I was ignored because someone thought I was
Magicevan's
alt. I tried telling him I wasn't, but found I was on ignore in 2 seconds flat.
And then 1 time I was queued in /LFR for ICC10, 5.4k GS, and someone PSTd me "Hey, wanna come to ICC 10 fresh run?" And I whispered back "Sure!" Boom, I was on ignore.
Edit: I just went and looked up the CoC in the ToS. Short answer is... you failed, and it is in no way illegal.
Long answer, Go
HERE
to the Code Of Conduct, section C, subsection (i) which states, "Using or exploiting errors in design, features which have not been documented, and/or "program bugs" to gain access that is otherwise not available, or to obtain a competitive advantage over other players."
It is entirely up to the GMs to decide if it is illegal, if they say it is not, then it is not. If EVERYONE can do this bug, THEN IN NO WAY IS IT ILLEGAL. Cool loophole bro.

On my priest alt, I was at Alterac Mountains attempting to kill
Frostmaw
for a quest. However, the mob was several levels higher then me and he had one of his yeti friends with him. In order to make things easier, I mind controlled the lower level one and proceeded to attack him until either he was low on health or the one I was controlling died.
A nearby druid noticed me doing this and whispered me:
"I cannot tolerate players who are too cowardly to fight their own battles. You make me sick and I'm going to ignore you now."
Then he ignored me.
Probably got MC'd off some cliffs in PvP a few times or something.

First, it's a "known issue" so it's been documented. Second, I've met some emo, nerdraging GMs in my day who get off on being pricks with god mode. So, if he doesn't want to exploit an encounter to save 2 minutes, I don't blame him really. If you suck so bad that you have to nerdrage on someone over wanting to play by the rules, then you're really overestimating your value to a group.
Maulee is now ignoring you.

I got kicked from a ToC 25 group, and then ignored after i tried explaining to the group leader that the reason i was gemming stamina as a rogue was that the socket that had a stam gem in it was a blue socket. i didn't want to spend 200g on a prismatic gem.
And you're are surprised that he has kicked you? You've been gemming stamina being a rogue? You really think that you're right? Sorry to tell you but you've deserved it.

You do know you don't
have
to match the socket color, right? You can put any color gem you want into any color socket you want - you just won't get the socket bonus unless you match the socket color.
I don't think there's a socket bonus out there that makes it worth gemming for a non-optimal stat just to get the bonus.
Alternatively, if you just have to have that Stam, there
are
other
gems that would give you both the Stam benefit and the far-more-useful Agility.

you do know you can put any gem in any socket right? or a purple gem so you could put in stam agil?

Its not nerdrage, its the truth.
And why would saving 2 mins make me suck so bad?
I have had a total of 1 group that glitched this and said "RUN!" at which point I had no idea what was happening until they explained afterwords lol.
The point being, he is playing by rules that he doesn't have to play by, and I was just trying to point that out to him, and anyone else who could of read that and never would of done it because they would have been to scared to. And I don't understand the correlation between sucking, nerdraging, and overestimating my value to a group.
And cool, I just had another funny way to end up on an ignore list. XD

I played out a little trick by saying something in /p chat and then making blanks to the edge of the box and then write like : I crit low. He put me on ignore list...
Heh I do that all the time with emotes, except my second line usually reads:
: Shutdown in 15:00
I almost always get at least one person with it. I think I had about 30 of 40 people drop from AV once when I used that emote right before the battle started.
Eh I dont think that Server shutdown thing would work on me because I have an addon that hcanges the size of my chat box.
Probably my funniest way of getting onto someone's ignore list was when I first hit 80 and i had <4000 gearscore, and I jokingly told this guy I could pull 9K DPS in ICC25. Somehow, he invited me without noticing how ungeared i was. It wasn't until we downed Lady deathwhisper and i got 2 pieces of gear that he noticed i was only pulling 4.5k DPS and kicked me. I joked and whispered him that I could pull 9k, but i wasnt trying, but then I was already ignored.

One time someone wanted to sell a pet for about 200 gold but the person never said gold after the 200. It looked like WTS 200. So, I decided to have some fun with him. I told him I would buy it if we could meet in Dalaran. So the guy meets with me and I type in the amount 2 gold. He gets super mad at me for this saying how I wasted his time and that I should pay 200 gold for it.
I tell him that since he never typed in gold that I thought he meant 200 silver which makes him ever more mad and he proceed to ignore me afterward.

Yesterday i was doing a random hc on my shaman, and the tank (paladin) was using Exorcism... i told him that exorcism decreases your TPS, and makes you take more damage as you can't 'avoid' attacks (Via /w)... he put me on ignore for trying to help him.
