"BLIZZARD MAY SUSPEND, TERMINATE, MODIFY, OR DELETE ANY BNET ACCOUNT OR WORLD OF WARCRAFT ACCOUNT AT ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON OR FOR NO REASON, WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE TO YOU.
...
(i) Using or exploiting errors in design, features which have not been documented, and/or "program bugs" to gain access that is otherwise not available, or to obtain a competitive advantage over other players;"
it's specifically mentioned in the ToS. no exploiting errors in design.
when blizz can ban you for any or no reason, i think it'd be in everyones best interest not to go around bugging fights. especially when they're not hard anyways.
back on topic:
my funniest ignore is when someone attacked me in TB while i was doing dailies, so i hexed him and ran off.
so he jumps on a level 1 alt and starts calling me a noob/baby/pve scrub. so i told him if he couldn't kill me, then what does that make him?
he then asked me why i was talking to him, and ignored me.Ok Ill bite on this. The clause you stated states that 'or to obtain a competitive advantage over another player'. This, by no means, gives you any edge over anyone else. You, sir, are just arguing for the sake of arguing and for the sake of always being right always.
On the thread side of things, I was once put on ignore for trading an item to someone and not the ignorer. i believe it was an epic world drop, and I was offered a pretty hefty sum. I traded it, and not 5 seconds later, I get a whisper asking the for the item at a heinous price. When I told him I had already sold it, he told me to bugger off and ignored me

One way to get ignored was the good ol' Gamon trick when he had Pride Breaker. Me and a good bunch of guild and friend priests in Shadowmoon ( when I played Horde, Karlina was my priest...) would mind control him and just boot all the pesky mounts away until we became drunk with our new-found powers and booted people away from mailboxes and auctioneers. We got plently of insults and death wishes. Ignores were common for us and we didnt stay long on those lists for they always needed a healer for the raids.
Another story was when I came across a fellow noob. He needed help and I got him to a decent level and what I supposed was friends. But saying one minor thing about his gameplay sets him off and placed me on ignore. I don't know if he plays anymore, but I do have to say that playing with him was fun when it lasted.
