The Horde won't be the bad guys; in fact, no one has any proof that Garrosh is going all fel-orc beyond one picture of a new look for the next Warchief. Blizzard has said they are changing him; I still think people need to wait and see before they get up in arms about everything.
As for the look of the city; this is a new war torn world; between the Black Flight and the Twilight Hammers, the warmongers on Alliance side, and the rest, is it really that bad that Orgrimmar is no longer open to the sky, easy for said flight based enemies to swoop down and let loose a blast of fire and tear things up. Is it really wrong to refortify, especially as the standard Alliance siege weapon is a tank, and make the city stronger? Yes, the Black Metal is a sign of 'evil', but what if they did with the gray stone/metal Orgrimmar is already forged of? Would you all continue to say it's going the way of evil if it was done like that?
I get that the Horde love, I feel the same way about my Alliance cities, but your jumping to conclusions with only a quarter of the information at most.

that's no excuse, this is a new war torn world, and yet the alliance capitals retained their "heroic justice freedom american" look.
horde just went the mongolian dark tolkienist orc way.....
is that fair to you?
if the alliance had the same deal, I wound't complain, but since it's just us.......

Again though Rank, what if they did this overhaul with the gray stone that Orgrimmar originally used; would you still call it 'evil'?

of course not....... they can reinforce something without making it look like a monstrosity taken from "nightmare on elm's street"......
I mean, just take a look at this.....
http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/images/news/2010/may/catazones/stormwind_14.jpg
what does that tells you?, a simple glance over that image, what feelings evoke in you? "Freedom" "Justice" "light" "righteousness".......
now compare that to this:
http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/images/news/2010/may/catazones/orgrimmar_06.jpg
what images or feelings this evokes? "menacing" "Dangerous" "dark" "foreboding" "evil" "unnatural" "opressive and dominating"
see where I'm getting here?

I'm gonna requote that passage from Rise of the Horde because it seems you did not read it:
Had Durotan spoken, he would have said:
Blasphemous, A blight upon the land. Out of harmony with everything we are
.
The traveling Frostwolf clan was still many leagues distant, but the Citadel perched upon the horizon like a buzzard. There was nothing in its design that bespoke orcish building. This structure, this architectural nightmare, this offense to eye and spirit was larger even than the draenei buildings.
Instead of the smooth, sleek lines that marked the structures of the orcs, this fortress was sharp and jagged. Instead of coexisting with the landscape, it dominated it. Hewn from black stone and jagged wood and metal, it fairly brisded against the sky.
those were durotan's feelings about hellfire citadel, and are exactly my feelings about Hellfire 2.0

Yes, it would still be all those things... just with gray instead of black.

Also, Orgrimmar has a different Climate to Stormwind.

The alliance is not all "freedom" and "righteousness". That is more of a paladin thing. Don't judge the horde just because of the new architecture.

That sound very shamanic. Thrall was a shaman so yeah, he wanted the architecture to coexist with the landscape. But Garrosh is the new warchief so he will change the look of the city to a more menacing look (he is a warrior after all).

exept that line wasn't said by Thrall, it was said by Durotar, thrall's father and he was a warrior too.....
U_U one of the few orc warriors who retained his sanity and refused to drink the blood of mannoroth, unlike a certain hellscream who said "gigidy-gigidy-gigidy" at the prospect of pumping demon blood in his veins...

You have no real proof of that Rank. But GVHB does have a point; Garrosh takes over and he changes the city to match his own outlook; Power is Right, and yes that is not the right thing, but hey, maybe you'll be lucky and once Garrosh goes down, phasing will kick in and all that black metal will turn gray so you don't feel like your in an evil place anymore.

Well, maybe Durotan thought that the "spiky" architecture of Hellfire Citadel was a monstrosity. For me, it look really cool lol. There a lot of changes in the horde, we'll need to adapt to them. Who knows, maybe when Thrall return to his position as warchief (if he ever returns) he will rebuild Orgrimmar again to it previous look.

wha'cha mean by that? that line WAS spoken by Durotar, it's on Rise of the Horde..... I quoted it directly from the book.
and as for the second half of my post, Durotar WAS one of the few warriors of the horde who refused to drink demon blood, while Grom Hellscream did accepted the demon blood with extreme happiness as if he was shooting heroin on his veins.....
Garrosh takes over and he changes the city to match his own outlook
now I know that, duh, that doesn't mean I have to like it.
I dislike the road the horde is taking... and I'm blaming those bloodsucking writers who have nothing better to do than ruin the warcraft 3 image the horde used to have.
you keep telling me to wait, but bro' i am waiting and each month more and more info gets out, the more I know the more my fears are confirmed, I have yet to see any redeeming honorable qualities of this direction the horde is taking.......

I meant, you have no proof that Garrosh would drink the Blood... he didn't when he was younger, why would he now? And it's not our fault that all MMOChamp does is post pictures and not screencaps to explain what these changes are; as for the direction the Horde is taking.... that's the direction that started with Wrath, don't blame Cata for all the problems, Blizzard started it during this expansion.

humm I never said garrosh would drink it, when I said "certain hellscream" I was referring to the father........
I know garrosh is stupid, but even he is not THAT stupid as to drink that crap....
for a start he would lose all suport from every single orc there is.
orcs are many things, but one thing they do not wanna be again is slaves.

again, I know bro' I never stated that cataclysm began all this dark road of the horde, it just made it worst. I blame the writers, I know they have to keep the plot moving but you have no idea how much I want them to depic the alliance as the savage mean ones for a change.
but nope, nothing, still the uncorruptable heroes to the bitter end. even their achitecture reflects that.

Ah sorry heh, too used to a certain other Horde defender taking shots at Garrosh like that. I apologize for misunderstanding there Rank. And aye... though, as said in other threads heh, the spikes and the like that are part of the new Orgrimmar have been seen in the Horde forces since Orcs vs Humans, it's just the Black Metal that's new.

We'll have to wait on that; but it does take two sides to war; Graymane, Wrynn, Tyrande are all warmongers... even if Knaak changed her, we saw it in Warcraft 3 she was fine with attacking the invaders, both sides. So it's probably not the Horde who are firing the first shots... in all conflicts; the only one we know 100% is Forsaken against the Worgen.

Grom was also not Stupid enough to drink that crap
erm, bro? he drank it, TWICE.
fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
honestly, falling for the trick the first time is excusable, but doing it again? that deserves only an epic /FACE-PALM.

taurenmoo and I see eye-to-eye in a lot of things, but that doesn't mean we share 100% the same opinions and ideas.
there are some stuff I disagree with him (Though those stuff are VERY very few :P we agree on most things)
