Good news everyone!...
Okay I think I found a workaround that worked for me, that is similar then the other solution posted by darkskyj. Despite others having success, it was not working for me, and I am providing this to help others that are not having the same success.
The client probably is getting the MD5 has wrong and is trying to install the addon, if you install the addon manually as I did... the client works smoothly.
This is how to do it. You will need super-user privileges or own the WoW folder.
1) First make
'+Wowhead_Looter'
folder in the addon folder, usually located
'C:/Program Files/World of Warcraft/Interface/AddOns'
. Be sure to pay attention to capitalization and naming as it will not work.
2) Download these files and deposit them into the
'+Wowhead_Looter'
folder. These are from Wowhead directly, so need to worry about anything dodgy getting on your computer.
http://client.wowhead.com/files/+Wowhead_Looter.toc
http://client.wowhead.com/files/Localization.lua
http://client.wowhead.com/files/Wowhead_Looter.lua
http://client.wowhead.com/files/Wowhead_Looter.xml
http://client.wowhead.com/files/wowhead-logo-64.blp
3) Now you should close the windows and start your client, as long as you have the client pointed to the correct location, it will check the version in your computer to the one at client.wowhead.com; hopefully it confirms they are the same as you just downloaded them from wowhead directly. The client then should display the nominal information regarding uploads.
Now you can start being a productive, wowhead citizen again!

This solution by romahicks is working because the Devs fixed the original problem. Had they not fixed it, this would still not work, because the client verifies the hashes of your files against the ones in updates.dat, not the hash of the ones on the server.
Buuuut they fixed it. So yay.

Really? Because when I take those files I pulled from the server, move them to the Bin and then run a fresh copy of the client from the server I get the same error. Is there a config file somewhere that could be in error that continues this problem, that I seem to be encountering?

I've seen two solutions to this. The first was unfixable on our end, the one with the hashes. The other issue can be resolved by running the client as admin. Have you given this a shot? This is usually the case when WoW is installed to a protected directory like Program Files instead of your User folder.

I've always installed WoW to D:/WOW, just to make backups and updates much easier. This is obviously not a protected directory, and I also Have UAC turned off. WowHead Looter runs perfectly for me without having to run as admin under Win7 64bit.

The could not update file issue seems to be fixed as of last night's client update.

Well here we are again. Two different machines, two different locations. Neither can upload.
Sometimes there's an error when authenticating but mostly it goes to 100% says 'Finalizing...' and then errors with, "WowHead is unable to process your upload at this time. Please try again in a bit!"
It would be nice if there was someplace we could look to see if Wowhead is even recieving (i.e. server status or something) so I can stop wasting my time repetitively trying to upload when there's a problem on their end. Even some kind of sticky post in the forums that keeps us up to date when there's a problem.
This would be great, "Sorry for client upload issues but since Cata came out and everyone has been submitting so much new stuff our system got overwhelmed and crashed. We'll have it back soon and let you know." I just made that up but it's the kind of feedback the community would love to see.

Our database is overloaded at the moment so data uploads may fail; we are working on fixing it as soon as possible.

Hello,
I see that there are some issues with the Wowhead Client. Here is my error message :
Upload failed: Authentication failed. Invalid server response.
I've configured the Wowhead Client with my own account. It worked yesterday but now it's broken.
What can I do to resolve this ?
Thanks in advance.
