Got this problem a few days ago by accidentally clicking the upload button before it had a chance to auto-update. Just sits there for a while saying "Checking for updates," then after a bit it tells me "An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host." I then have the choice to try again or cancel. Trying again just repeats that process, taking me back to those choices, and it forces me to close the client when I hit cancel.
UPDATE: I tried deleting the client that I had so I could get the current one straight from the site... problem is, I was having problems with partially loaded pages, and pages loading VERY slowly throughout the site, and even downloading the client, not even one MB, was estimated at 15 minutes, and that estimation seemed accurate. I looked around, and found out that some problems with the site can be solved by clearing cache, so I did, which fixed the slow and partial loads, but the download was still taking forever. I paused the download, resumed it, and BAM, right to the end of the download. After installing the newly downloaded client, my problems were solved. Not sure if clearing the cache played any part in the client working again, but it certainly helped with the download. Most likely the biggest part was the fresh client.

Having the same issue as well. To be honest, coming from a programmer, I'm getting tired of this bug ridden program, so I have uninstalled and don't plan on using again. Sad because I enjoyed contributing. Oh well life goes on.

I just signed up yesterday and tried to download/Install the client but did not get any where? It downloaded but when I tried to install the bar went to 100% and stalled, then it crashes.
