Uhm, I speculate that the pool of lava is...Ragnaros?
Rag is attacking the World Tree in Hyjal.

Pictures! Of Grim Batol and the potential fight area.
Well my two cents. Probally some sort of dragon experiments. Like when Deathwing did. So, perhaps Cho'gall is experimenting on twilight and blacks? Who knows.

Heh, interesting you mention it. There is a new model of a "twilight"(violet colored) phoenix that seems to be a mount.

Didn't it just get said they were a breed mix of twilight dragon and old gods?

No confirmation. Just speculation.

Not necessarily. Go to Blizzard's page,
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/cataclysm/features/grimbatol.html
, and click on the picture of General
Vezax the Second
Umbris to enlarge it. What do we see? The same eggs. It seems weird that a Faceless General would be guarding Twilight Eggs...
Essentially, this place is what happens when a bunch of evil guys make alliances with or capture every other evil guy in the game, and stick 'em in one dungeon.

Their allies of Deathwing, the father of the Twilight Flight; why wouldn't they be looking after the Eggs... seeing as they were created and forged there in Grim Batol in the first place.

It just seems strange to me that the first Blizzard pic of them has an Old God minion, rather than a dragon. Seems a bit ominous...

Not really, again, they are allies, and I'm sure if there were little Faceless/Shapeless ones running around, you'd see Dragon's guarding them if that's what the instance called for. It's probably meant to show us just how many Twilights Deathwing has been breeding since the end of Night of the Dragon; look at OS with the second Twilight Drake, you have an almost endless stream of Twilight Whelps coming out of that portal, and for all we know, the other end was connected to Grim Batol.

True. It just seems like, that's not much of a horrifying secret. As you've said, we've known that for years... Then again, Blizzard has made some stupid 'secret' things before.
You face not one, but
two
batches of twilight eggs!
