Outland - worst place in the game.

People tend to do better when they focus on a single character at a time. Get your Paladin to cap, and then maybe enough time will have past to not be in the mood of "Ugh, Outland again."
My main is a level 80 Druid that got to 70 in TBC. My main for the beginning of WotLK was my DK. I didn't level my Druid until a couple months later since I didn't want to grind Northrend all over again immediately.
My main alt right now is my 80 Prot Warrior. I leveled him to 55 in LFD, to 58 in the Plaguelands, to 68 in HFP, Zangar, Nagrand, and to 80 in Northrend.
Questing through Northrend for the third time is the reason I've stalled on my Priest (level 74 atm), and I am currently levelling a 39 Mage while doing Loremaster, The Seeker, and World Explorer.
Also, people who fixate on Recount numbers tend to either over-aggro or die from boss gimmicks (like running out of novas).

I don't even have recount running any more. I only bring it up if mobs feel like they are dying too slow. Damage Done is irrelevant pre-raiding so long as you know what you're doing. You will only do poor damage if (1) your gear isn't right, (2) your spec isn't right, or (3) your rotation isn't right. All of these after to be learned while playing the class, not from watching meters, even if you don't do it often.
Quick little anecdotes about bouncing between characters. If I've been tanking on my Warrior and I switch to my DK, I'll try to Shield Slam, Thunder Clap, and Cleave. All of those keys are bound to something, but not necessarily something I want to be hitting at that moment.
My friend would occasionally bounce between his Mage and his Rogue, and more than once he blinked in a group of mobs rather than stealthing in and sapping one.
And this simple mistakes are from players accustomed to playing both classes, but recently spent more time on one. I can only imagine what happens when people who aren't fluent in either class do.

I hate to be an ass, but Ryyy's attitude so far is exactly what I
don't
want in the game at raiding levels....
At least he's asking for advice. And the first bit of advice I've got for you is....
Dump gearscore out of your brain. Seriously.
And secondly:
Helping your group out rather than glancing at recount is more important. You say you glance at it "occasionally" but even citing it in your own defense means you're not necessarily helping out the group all the time, such as tossing out emergency heals, dispelling magic when you have a druid or shaman healer for example, stuff like that.
Also, Outlands is awesome.

TBC was my faaaavorite. Maybe because that's when I started playing, but I'm saddened that my little paladin is never gonna see Outlands. I loved the funky art and colorful areas. Just my opinion.

Outland makes me sad, they nerfed the XP requirements so hard from 60-70 that no one ever sees Netherstorm or SMV anymore. I usually ding 68 just into Nagrand, as most people seem to. I guess them's the breaks, no one goes to Silithus either =(
Also, on a non-nostalgia note, you're crazy if you don't like the insane XP increase at 58. IMO, 50-58 is still the worst level gap.
