Well. I have to say I have been doing tons of randoms through the LFD and I very rarely have trouble. I started doing Heroics for the first time last week and expected to catch hell over my low gear score. I am pleased to say I have heard not one word about it. I have actually run into fewer punks in heroics than I ever did running normals with a lowbie character.

That's because 90% people doing Heroics won't give you %^&$ unless you are performing sub-par. Yelling at a fresh toon who knows want he's doing just adds time to their Frost Farm :P

And then you get someone like this hunter who I had the pleasure of grouping with in Mana Tombs. Now, I normally don't care about what gear people are in when leveling. It's not like I'm going out and getting all my level 60 craftables myself. But first he asked to need on a "of the gorilla" chest piece, which is Strength and Spirit. I asked why he wanted that, as those are the only two stats that Hunters actually
don't
want, and he just said forget it. Then we kill the rock boss and he asks to need on
Shaarde the Greater
, which again is horrible for a hunter.
So I try and be helpful, point out that hunters should be looking for agility first and foremost, with some stamina and intellect as secondary, and that anything with Strength and Spirit should usually be avoided. Then I actually looked at his gear, where he has things like straight +Spirit gloves, and a Spell Power trinket.
His response was "why do u care what i do" and to stop being a "no it all."
After those responses,
then
I started to be a jerk about it.

I kinda agree with the OP that the LFD tool has ruined aspects of the game. Now we get to raid with random people who are not from our own realm , this of course can bring out the worse in some people because they will most likely never get in group with you again. When it first came in I remember people would just need on everything because they were greedy and didn't give a ^&*! about anyone else. Blizzard even had to remove need on frozen orbs because of this!
I never really got in to WoW untill WotLK , so I am unable to ponder the good old days of vanilla ( even though I had the game and hated it with a passion ) but I did enjoy doing stuff with people on my realm. You learned who was good to party with and other who you would advoid. What was cool was people would whisper you on the off chance you wanted to do a heroic , and I would have never learnt where anything was if I didn't have to fly all over to get to them. Yeah the teleport in and out of dungens is cool when you want to do stuff easily but surley part of the experience was learning the different areas.
I don't really have any bad experineces these days as I think most people behave when a reansonbelly geared player is present and is not worried about speeding through for the 2 frost badges. Maybe taking away the bonous frost badges would stop some of the behaviour that you read about on various forums. I think the best way to stop unpleasant experinces is get a group of friends together like we use to and go in together, it's proberly quicker than waiting for the dps and you can do a healthy amount of dungens in a few hours , plus you can all get lot equally. No matter the problem in WoW , there is always a logical solution to it when people are involed.

It really irks me when the group wipes and someone doesn't know where the instance is in relation to the graveyard.
Did not happen nearly as often before LFD. Now some people don't even know the physical location of the portal.
Lol it sucks when i'm leveling an alt and get a really odd dungeon that I haven't done in like a year... It takes me foreverrrr to get to some of those, I feel bad for not remembering but I wish my freakin minimap had a much better picture of where the hell I am.
Steam vault dungens come to mind. With Slave pens being used for the festivel of fire it was painfull seeing people running over the gravestone icon not realising you had to dive down and swim lol.

It doesn't count when you mention it right off the bat. No wonder it has a potential to descend into it :P
Regardless, whatever "loss" there was because of the Dungeon Tool, it makes up for hundredfold just by being there. Implement it to raids properly, and my alts will be happy.

Would you want it to be cross realm raiding or strictly your "home" realm?
