LFD - Did it single handedly destroy the games Community?

Would you want it to be cross realm raiding or strictly your "home" realm?
Exactly like the Dungeon tool - cross realm. It doesn't really matter that much to me however, to be honest.

No.
I would tell you what did, but you wouldn't understand.
If you understood you wouldn't listen.
If you listened you wouldn't believe it.
If you believed it, you'd find a way to not care.

The home realm raid finder is already there, /lfr brings it up.
And after that you won't have to interact with any other players on your realm at all
Brilliant idea
take the MMO out of MMORPG
Really? take the MMO out of the MMORPG? how did you come to this conclusion?
You wouldn't solo raids, you'd just do it with people from other realms, which would make it immeasurably useful for small realms, or realms with a larger opposite faction and simply not enough people to raid with on your faction.
I would gladly trade in the countless pug raids that are formed every hour of every day on my realm and disband after 20 minutes because a healer can't be found.
To the topic at hand: the wow community is always destroyed by the wow community, not by some useful/useless tool that pops up once in a while.

To be perfectly honest, I don't really do that anyway - unless it's in a pug (see what I'm getting at?). Getting to know the people I'm guilded with (or perhaps other big guilds on the server) is plenty for me, can't really see the need for the rest - general good manners works fine for that.
Brilliant idea
My sarcasm-sense are tingling... :P

How come? You'd still be interacting with alot of other people, no matter if they're on your realm or not. Realms are merely to not have everyone clustered on top of each other, and cause the game to become more of a lag-fest than it already can be. Yes, it creates the ability, but it doesn't necessarily eliminate it.

Pug raids bring out the worst in people, cross-realm LFD brings out the worst in people, and you want to rely on good manners in cross-realm raids? /gigglesnort

I say yes, for exactly the reason the OP described. Before the Dungeon Finder, if you were a jackass to people and demanded that bosses be skipped, demanded everyone run through the dungeon as soon as possible, berated lower-geared people trying to gear up, berated new players, or anything like that you would end up blacklisted on your server as a jerk, and nobody would group with you. Thanks to the Dungeon Finder, 99% of the time you'll be grouped with people who aren't on your server and it doesn't matter how you treat them, because nobody on YOUR server is going to know short of that person rolling an alt to call you out (and that's largely a waste of time). So it has fostered a really piss-poor attitude and everyone has become selfish jerks who don't want to "waste time" helping anyone anymore.
I would much rather prefer the Dungeon Finder to be reworked to group only on your own realm. You still get all of the benefits of being able to do a random dungeon, and auto-teleport to the dungeon, but you have to watch your manners because if you're really vile word will get out. I have NEVER heard of this "skipping bosses" or "votekick because your GS is too low" nonsense before the Dungeon Finder was released. People ran through dungeons and did all bosses because that's just what you did, now it's "lol I just want my 2 Frosts ASAP" and people skip bosses even when it's clear the group could use the bonus emblems. I've heard of people being booted out of heroic Utgarde Keep or Heroic Nexus because they only had a 3K or so Gear Score; clearly some elitist thought that would add an extra minute or two to his run and he can't have that.
Not only that, but thanks to the Dungeon Finder you can just sit in a city all day long an chain run random dungeons. You don't have to quest, you don't have to interact with the world or with other people. Just go to some secluded place in a city of your choice, and run dungeons all day. Talk to other people? Who needs that.
So yes, IMO the Dungeon Finder utterly destroyed the community since it removed the need to USE the community. You can be a total obnoxious, elitist scumbag to people in random dungeons and you'll never have any consequences (this goes more so if you are a tank, who incidentally seem to be the biggest jerks). You can ignore the world. You can ignore the lore. You can ignore having to group up with people to complete quests or hell just for companionship while questing to make some of those annoying "kill X" quests go quicker - when I was leveling I would usually ask other players around my level if they were doing a particular quest and if they wanted to group together to make it go quicker; now I'm lucky to even SEE another player. The world is empty, and you're lucky to see one other person when traveling from point A to B. I would prefer them to bring back the Global LFG channel so while I'm questing I can see who else wants to run things. The current game ENCOURAGES you to sit in a city and use the Dungeon Finder, because otherwise you have no way to see what groups are forming for raids/achievements/etc.

"MMO" stands for "Massively Multiplayer Online". It has never stood for "Cool fantasy-based graphics-engine for socialization". If that's what you're looking for, Second Life is that-a-way.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the social aspects of the game - that's why I'm in a guild. When I want to do something fun and know that I want to chat with people, I set up a guild run.
Guilds are the game's built-in guard against having to deal (regularly) with jerks; since the guild leaders can control who belongs to the guild, they can control the guild's overall tone and goal.
To comment on the original point: If I've run 100 dungeons through LFD, then I'd guess that only 5% have had people in it that I would consider rude - and only about 1% of those do I remember. It's like meeting a rude person on the street, in that I know I'll probably never run into them again - except it's even better, because by ignoring them I can make
certain
I'll never run with that character again.

Carimm, when people have a bad run in randoms, they are much more likely to come here and post "Am I the only one?" than someone who had a run with some really nice people who joked and had fun, finished the run with no wipes, and mutually agreed to run one more before the tank had to go.
I've had various experiences in LFD, and in PUG raids on my own server.
I've had really fun LFD groups where the other players were capable (or at least not bent on trying to see how many ways they could cause a catastrophic wipe), where my contribution to the group was appreciated, and where we all mutually agreed we hoped to bump into each other again.
I've had a group where a level 50+ "tank" was wearing more spellpower mail items than plate, couldn't take a hit, intentionally wiped the group, and spent more time playing with his Crashin Thrashin Racer than actually fighting. I've had groups where someone with a full set of heirloom gear was doing less DPS than the tank/barely healing at all and going OOM after one small-sized pull/not able to hold threat off a hunter's auto-shot with pet growl turned off.
I still think LFD makes it MUCH easier to complete low level dungeons, because when I was leveling before LFD, it seemed like when I was ready to run a dungeon there was never a group on my server at the level of the dungeon. You could probably find a higher level charging gold for dungeon runs though, but that kind of defeats the purpose if you want to run the dungeon to practice using your abilities in a group setting.
Yes, there are jerks out there, doesn't mean the tool itself isn't a really useful thing.

What you just said only adds time to a frost run, so most well geared players will just ignore whatever happens and get on with it, you may see some scrub doing it, but that will be the exception, not the rule.
I would much rather prefer the Dungeon Finder to be reworked to group only on your own realm. Ans instsead of taking 10 to 15 mins as a dps in LFD start to take 30?
I've heard of people being booted out of heroic Utgarde Keep or Heroic Nexus because they only had a 3K or so Gear Score; clearly some elitist thought that would add an extra minute or two to his run and he can't have that.
I was once booted ( as a tank) from a run in HGundrak for only having 24K HP ( def cap obviously), and it was long before LFD came out, it was in 3.0 actually.
Not only that, but thanks to the Dungeon Finder you can just sit in a city all day long an chain run random dungeons. You don't have to quest, you don't have to interact with the world or with other people. Just go to some secluded place in a city of your choice, and run dungeons all day. Talk to other people? Yes, I can sit in a city and do nothing for those 10 to 15 mins ( as dps ) that it takes to get me a dungeon OR I can go do quests, dailies, whatever, now compare that to before.
At 80, need daily HC, Spam trade endlessly asking for more, would get maybe a healer and a dps, need tank, wait 10 mins, a dps needs to go, next is healer and you lose time IN A CITY just spamming trade.
While levelling, I almost never did an instance before HFP because there were no one in city's that wanted to do them, either do a \who in every zone and asked ppl of the appropriate level if they wanted to or just do quests, and I can tell that SUCKED.
So IMO the LFD tool was a very good improvement they did to the game, I would call it the best thing to came out since sliced bread but would probably be flamed for it so I will just say its close.
You could always behave as you wanted , you always do whatever you want, because I certainly will and always did, its not the LFD that changed my way of being, it just added a lot of comfort to my ( a lot of others ) gameplay.
The game always focused on you being in a city to see what pugs are forming, no way around it except... wait for it .... GET IN A GUILD to do those same things.
TLDR: No LFD is fine.

Without the ability to friend people and seek them out to group with them again, those interactions lose a lot of their substance.
The sort of griefing you see in LFD didn't occur previously, in part because it would have actually risked consequences.

The tool speeds up the queue for people looking for something
exotic
, like low level dungeons or - in general - specific ones. As for the usual "gief meh badgies quick!"-thing, nothing would change waiting-time-wise, unless you play on a realm that is completely underpopulated
and
lfg after midnight, midweek.
You have the correct idea, I am on a mid pop realm and can remember how !@#$ty it was to get a healer or a tank to do the daily HC before LFD.
O'rly? Then you're a nice person - or you've always been a jerk. I didn't change my behaviour, too. I know I could - but I refuse to adjust to what I see in random dungeon groups.
Nothing to do with being nice or a jerk, point is flaming someone or being a jerk is just a waste of time in something that I have done more times then I can count ( I can go look on the statistics on all my chars if you want an exact number).
The solution to problems concerning PuGs is
not
getting in a guild.
You lost me there, care to explain you not getting in a guild will help you avoid pugs?
