But I try to avoid killing mobs - especially humanoids - while she's in my lap. Sometimes I slip up and do some questing on my lowbie, but she's quick to catch it by saying "Are you fighting bad people?"
She's three. Try actually explaining to a three year old why "the bad people" are being killed/fought
Good thing you haven't told her the truth- "I have to kill these people because some guy back in town wants me to bring him back ten unpopped eyes for his ten-eye pie."

My 7 yr old has leveled a Warlock to 15 mostly by mob grinding and with a little help from QuestHelper has even started doing a few quests.
As stated above, strict time limits, and turning off chat is a must.
On a side note, I used Macaroon to create a macro for the Pallidan tanking rotation, Last week he tanked lootship for our guild on heroic and even got me the heroic Neverending Winter :-)

I never went out much and I'm playing video games since I remember, and I'm not yet a serial killer :P Don't let her play much though, because it deppends a lot on the person, and games can be very absorptive, specially at younger age.

The real part to worry about is not in the game..it's having these kids watch us adults nerd rage.
Having the kids mimic us and calling the teacher a "Failed Noob" could cause a lot of uneasy questioning at your next PTA. :P

My daughter is 7 and she loves to watch me play. She has a level 30 character on Wizard101, a game a good friend of ours is a developer for. Anyways, she always wanted to play WoW, but I always told her no. One day I let her start a character on my wifes account, and she loves it. She is a level 12 BELF rogue, because "she's pretty" She quests alone, and mostly PvPs outside of Org...

I think you are a bad parent.
And you're a moron.
Seconded.
Porcell, there's no need to say something like that!
Bad parenting usually comes down to not caring about what is good or bad for your children.
Most decisions as a parent are based on your own experiences, or the experiences of people you trust. Since I can fully understand this is a completely new experience, it is a sign of good parenting to at least inquire here about what actions you might or might not take in this matter. In the end it will be your decision, and I hope for you and your daughter you make the right one, but as far as I'm concerned, nobody here can decide for you what to do.

My 4 your old is playing a BE ret paladin. I basically just equipped some heirloom items I had and let her loose. She enjoys running around trying to pet the cats near Silvermoon, and killing a mob or two. She's level 4 atm just from one night of messing around.
The game itself is pretty and "cartoonish" like a lot of people say. I mean she also plays Super Mario Bros on the Wii with my wife and I and she has a blast with that. She also enjoys Petville, Farmville, and Fishville on my facebook account.

I met a 9 year old the other day that plays a 80 frost DK tank. And he plays very well, very maturely and was very quiet and polite.
