btw, before i respond, i said combat was "fun", i didnt say it was the best spec, or that it was better than any other spec. i said it was fun, you said it was bad, and i said it wasnt bad.

totally agree... but with a single target it is effectively a bladestorm in that it is anti-cc and multiple hits except it doesnt hit as hard as bladestorm, and its fatal flaw remains
its an amazng PvE ability, its not great for PvP
i agree with the concept, but prep is an 8 min cd for mut/prep and 5 min cd for sub rogues.... this makes it essential for arena imo, but not just general bging.... why does having a long CD make it less essential for BGs?
you are missing preps importance- it has nothing to do with its cd

also true, but i find that fighting casters who use a lot of instant casts, its nice to have a silence as opposed to an interrupt. i find the good casters wont sit there when youre on them and try to cast anyway... most of them need to, especially in the bracket that the OP is in

in comparison to the PvP uses you miss out on to get it
meh, hitting ghostly strike and evasion at the same time against any melee means that you have 11 seconds (glyphed ghostly strike) to attack them with normal attacks while also having unfair advantage proc every second if you are combat and you've glyphed GS you've done something horribly, horribly wrong
also <11 extra whites (glyphed GS) against other melee isn't that big of a deal
(95 percent dodge with both of them up). dodge has been on DRs for awhile now, using GS on top of evasion is a waste because of it
obviously bad against plate enhancements and ferals fixed
you won't have ghostly strike (not that its a big deal anyway) until 71, don't gauge combats performance as a leveling spec by it
yeh, sorry, i thought the discussion with frames had evolved to a beyond his current lvl discussion... obviously you wont have killing spree at 45 combat in PvP is even more worthless than leveling with it
you can dispell a daze? i mean if its possible, then its news to me... not saying it isnt, i just didnt think you could dispell physical effects (concussive shot, etc) attention: pay it closer

no amount of logic can disprove that pvping as a combat rogue is fun to me, hence my comment <3 most except for this ammount:
most people don't consider the worst and least effective way to do something "fun", and while your personal preference may be that getting kitted to death while doing sub par damage is fun... the majority of people won't agree with you
therefor saying combat is inherently fun...

forgot to mention both adrenaline rush and hack and slash... can add extra attacks in a killing spree....as well as obviously extra attacks in general... not a huge thing, but in a killing spree, getting a proc (assuming single target) can make a difference
if you are using AR concurrently with KS you are also doing them wrong

I patrol these forums enough to know that in every argument with Goshad you lose.
And no, Combat is not a viable pvp spec. It's a lol spec.
You definitely don't recommend it to newer rogues experimenting for the first time in pvp.

He was talking about the fact that when you sit a long time on your butt, it gets sore.
This is usually said to someone to imply him being a number one nerd.
Also he didnt say that you sucked, just that it sucked that you had a sore butt.

Im not afraid of warriors anymore! If i get caught off guard by a sub rogue (which most are at this lvl) i turn around blind>evasion>Muti>KS if my talent procs then just Evis and there dead.

Even hunters are 2 shotted. Only time i've died is if im outnumbered or caught outta stealth. Which is were the rogue does poor at. Haha but i know im not a warrior, just in PvP people show up in the weirdest of times O.o

not the least effective way to do something
information on it isn't rare uncitable hearsay
take your pick
my defintion is: can i kill people in a bg? yes, can i win 1v1 encounters in a bg? yes, can i survive or escape 2v1 or greater, or at least hang on long enough for help to come? yes you can also do all those things speced as
such
... that doesn't make it viable
since i can do all those as combat, its fun to me and definitely viable.
while those things may happen, its not often enough to even be noteworthy
as far as the sore butt comments, its obvious there are quite a few people around here who are goshad's beyatch. sux to be u! noticing correct information and flawed logic doesnt make someone my beyatch
