So how about making WoW hard again?

Since when was I Paladingod? Since when do all people arguing against you have to have the same arguments?
I am not remotely straw-manning. I was brought into the game as a new player by a group of friends who were raiding Gruul, Magtheridon and early Tier 5 content. I had to be hauled through the Karazhan attunement questline just so I could get geared -- and that was like pulling *!@#ing teeth to get them to help me through it. It was not fun for them and it was not fun for me, but it had to be done otherwise I wouldn't have been able to pull my weight on the content they were currently doing.
Not fun for friends to help you O.o
You sure they were your friends :P

If anyone thought the attunement quests were fun, they were messed up in the head.
If content were tuned for the "average" player, then it would be too hard for bad players and
too easy for good players
.
This is why we have heroic modes.

Heroic LK is very badly tuned in 10-man. As a 25-man raider you won't remotely appreciate how overtuned it is.

How is this digression relevant?
To claim that something is or is not challenging, one must view it from the correct context.
Out of curiosity, how much of the ICC buff did you have before downing 11/12?

The reason you don't see what I'm saying is that your self-image doesn't correlate with my self-image.
FTFY. Once more you are presenting your own opinions on what constitutes "Challenging" as facts.
What makes the encounter real, what is its substance, is the experience, and that's not the same at all.
Press buttons. Boss dies. Get loot. Get victory rush. Where's the difference of experience, apart from an inflated self-delusionary ego, from doing it with 0%?
(Pssst. Well done. This is nothing more than pixels in a game. Perhaps you should stop arguing to such length over it.)

Unskilled players that slog through it with the 30% buff get nothing but welfare epics and a title that has meaning only because of their own
self-delusion
.
Ad hominem much?
Once again you present your opinion as universal.
I'm sorry to disappoint you; the sense of accomplishment that I will get when my guild downs the Lich King for the first time will not bed dependent on your judgment of its worth or lessened in any way by your condemnation of it.

Pathetic and wrong.
More insults. Excellent debate
skills
.
Most hardcore raiders raid for fun and challenge and care very little about loot.
Awesome information. Link to the unbiased survey supporting this?
The only players who raid for loot are players who hate raiding
And here I was, horribly confused and thinking that I could raid both for loot and for for the experience itself.
At this point, I will wholly admit that I am only in the thread to catalog the insults by a poster who, very recently, accused someone of committing a common fallacy, but has since devolved to ad hominem attacks in nearly every reply.

Wow was hard?

I hate raiding? Didn't know that.

Mine is "who ever said everyone is entitled to see endgame contents." This seems to have become the prevailing trend in this game...a sense of entitlement.
The developers said it, after seeing just how many players actually saw the end-game content (hint : very few).
It was either letting more people view the content, or just not doing it as awesome anymore. They're not going to spend much cash moneys on content nobody's going to do.
WoW
became
what it is - the most profitable MMO ever - when that was exactly the the design paradigm.
Players evolve. If you believe WoW's players are the same who stuck with it, you are sadly mistaken. Each change brought back people (like, for example, Cata will bring me back) and chased away others.
Also, WoW was never hard. It was boring and tedious, and, to be entirely honest, badly designed. The thing is? Every other MMO on the market at WoW's release somehow managed to be worse. Things that seemed like good ideas back then (questlines that take you all across the world for no goddamn reason) would get shot down in the developmental process of any other MMO at this point in time.
