I'm perfectly calm. I was answering a question. Focus is still #$%^ - and it's more and more likely that Cataclysm will launch November 2nd (see mmo-champion.com for further proof). Blizzard is running out of time, is all.

Just because things suck now (according to YOU anyway) doesn't mean it's going to suck forever.
If Cataclysm goes live on Nov 2 as is rumored, Blizzard has all of six months to actually balance %^&* and make it work.
Given that things as large as @#$%ing professions don't even work yet, I don't trust them as far as I can collectively throw them to balance MM DPS in a PVE setting, meaning that, yet again, MM is going to be royally #$%^ed for doing anything in Cataclysm, *gasp* just like in TBC.
Just like I predicted back when the big reveal was that BRK was in the alpha as GC's "primary tester and balance aid".

So why now, change the class so drastically?
Because Ghostcrawler is an idiot? idk

I wish Blizz would implement a level reset. I would love to relevel my main to learn Focus from 1 but at the same time keep all my reps/vanity items/equipment etc. I may just reroll a Worgen hunter to relearn the class from get go and use him as my farming wolf.
It'll take you maybe a day to adapt to the changes. I've rolled many different classes as alts and geared them up. This game isn't that challenging folks. The developers have already watered down most of this game to allow the more experienced gamers the ability to quickly adapt and excel at many different classes.
I never really raided as a mage until my wife got her's to 80 and started getting gear. I did a bit of research on which abilities to use, hopped on her toon for a night, and soon was tearing up the charts.
I guess some people would require 80 full levels to relearn their class (which really hasn't changed ALL that much), and others just need a single raid night to get back into the groove. To each their own I guess.

6 months? I take it you meant weeks. In perspective that really isn't alot of time.
He meant the entirety of Beta I think. Like, they've had all of Beta to make it work, and it still
won't
might not when it goes live.

Mages are terribly easy. Tell me you just picked up a Feral Druid and was able to top charts and I'll accept that.
Although I do agree with you that if you're skilled, it doesn't take too long to be skilled with another class (think arena: your first time to 1800 is the hardest. Once you've done it, it isn't so bad on other characters.)
I personally think they are changing the class from mana to focus, because it makes, I don't know, SENSE. Why would a hunter cast spells? Are they similar to a rogue, or a mage? Took Blizz long enough to fix that error.
Yeah.. it also
totally
makes sense that gnomes can withstand hits from a Dragon x100 its own size. Too many things don't make sense in this game for Blizzard to ever claim that.

You will get absolutely
NO
argument from me on that one. He drives me nuts with the complete garbage he spews from his keyboard. He should be nominated for Doublespeaker of the Decade. I'm honestly waiting for him to start declaring thought crimes by players.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't you DEFENDING Focus and the removal of Volley? Both GC pet projects?

The new Marks rotation:
Serpent Sting. Widow Venom. Chimera Shot. Find a small child to hit the Steady Shot button while you go make yourself a cup of coffee. Return to find that you are still lacking focus and go make a bagel with cream cheese to accompany your coffee. Return again, watch the bar crawl up a few more ticks and hit the Chimera button yourself so you feel as though you've done most of the work. Give child a quarter. Repeat.
What an exageration. Casting Steady Shot in between your CS cooldown will give you enough focus to cast it again. And your normal 6 focus/sec will be enough to cast Arcane Shot and whatever else you want to use.
So less QQ please.

That's my theory.
This might be true, but keep in mind we did originally have focus to begin with. Perhaps after many years they want to try again...

And your normal 5 focus/secfixt
It may be lower than that, but the last time I actually sat down and hard-calculated it, it was 5/sec

Yeah, and they removed it, because it &*!@ing sucked.
Funny how history repeats itself.

Your attitude is terrible. Seriously.
@Wildhorn I wasn't exaggerating at all. I really did pay a small child 20 dollars in quarters to sit there and push a button. Yep. Mmmhmm.
I was not "QQ" ing, which honestly has to be one of the most annoying and overused terms in the history of PC gaming, but expressing a concern in my own sarcastic way. Here, I'll explain it for you.
Steady Shot on the PTR is sluggish and painfully slow to cast, so using it to generate focus actually does require some time. Because Chimera Shot has such a high cost,
you need to cast at least two Steadies, which takes a surprising 5-6 seconds.
If you cast Arcane Shot after those two Steadies, you're back in the hole and can no longer cast Chimera, which puts you either standing there auto-shotting while you regenerate focus or casting another Steady Shot, which then effectively puts you waiting at least a second past what is optimal to fire your Chimera.
Could this rotational messiness be adapted to? Probably. It is enjoyable and non-frustrating? Not at all. In its present state, Marksmanship feels broken. This
could
change. However, I still do not see the logic in taking a fully functional mechanic, implementing extreme changes and then basically telling everyone "oh, focus is just the way we want it now, you're just doing it wrong."
Unless something has changed,
the cast time per Steady Shot is 1.5
