I am extremely disappointed in the moderators at this moment in time.
Gnub moved it to the mage forums and had it moved back after we asked.
And yet... it somehow pains me a bit that I "gave in". I'm a bit of a an order freak (at least when it comes to my moderating) - but there's always exceptions - and it seems to be a somehow popular thread.
Why would I be proud about something I bought? :P
I'd be proud if I had a Porsche... or well, maybe not, but I'd be mental /flex'ing a lot.

well to bring this topic back on track...
The only mage I ever had was stuck at lvl 12 ish...
Does it get any better?
Should i give one a go?

You're about as likely to die as a ret paladin while leveling, honestly. You can't just run in and auto attack and always win, but you have so many ridiculously powerful spells designed to keep mobs from you while blowing them to bits at the same time.

I've only really been able to solo Hogger on two level 10 characters.
1) My Paladin.
2) My Frost Mage.
Level 20 is indeed OP, but when you think about it, that's when most classes get a lot of good skills. Mages just get a lot more ;)
Arannia - I'd be happy to move to a generic 'Recycling Bin' style thread in the Paladin forums for off-topic chat. But with a lack of that, I don't see what's the big deal about having a single off-forum thread. As armill points out, it's a community, not just a database site.
Do you think that the 'Old buddies' thread be moved to the Off-Topic forum? This is not a Mage thread. It's a Paladin Forum thread. It's designed for the Paladin regulars to chat about what they all happen to be working on at the moment, not for the Mage community to come in and tell us how to min/max and what we're all doing wrong.
And yes, don't take it up against Gnub, take it up against us who peer pressured him into moving it back.

I don't have Engineering, I still have my Alchemy, and holding out for the transformation potion in Cata that'll turn me into a flying passenger mount :D

What are the rules about that? I suppose they get a free parachute if we decide to transform/dismount a bit of a ways up.
Nope. I've accidentally killed my girlfriend with my RAF rocket multiple times. I keep meaning to HoP her before we hit the ground but because of lag she always gets out of my range before I can.
She's an alchemist though, I think in Cata I'll have to be quick to bubble myself/parachute cloak if I let her give me a lift.
Also: 80 now! It's funny. Grinding for exp was driving me nuts, but now I'm on my mage at 9:30 on a saturday morning... so I can grind for the Jeeves pattern.
Edit again: Got the pattern and got engineering to 450... holy balls Jeeves is expensive. I blew 2k on the mats for this little guy.

Better than grinding 150 Champion's Seals for the Argent Squire... but at least I can say that Ghostcrawler gave me my pony :D
2k on mats is pretty good value, if you ask me. I'd take Jeeves over epic flying any day.

Titansteel Bars get you? Or was it the various different Scrap Bots? I still have yet to make it on my warrior yet I don't really have a use for it at this current time.
And grats on 80 and I'm sure she will pay you back.
Hmm Alc/Eng sounds like a nice combo. For a Mage.

Titansteel was 1k in total. The Khorium for the Outlands scrap bots was fairly steep, as well. Those were definitely the two most expensive parts.
And yeah, 2k on mats is pretty good value (I didn't complain, just put him together as fast as I could as soon as I could), I was just surprised.

Personally, I'd feel !@#$ing awful for blowing all that money, but I am quite frugal! xD
Anyway, yeah, Fire Mage, been there, done that, it's alright. Not my favourite class, I'm more into melee types.
CBA rerolling before Cataclysm. I'm playing Pokémon HeartGold to pass the time!

I was playing SoulSilver, but then my pokewalker died, and I couldn't be bothered to change the batteries. I'd already beaten Red, so...

Remember how in the old games you could level up your pokemon by putting them in the day care, and they'd get experience at the rate of one point per in game step? I think you can do that IRL now.

Its basically a pedometer. You load a pokemon onto it and you can gain items, catch rare pokemon ($%^& YEAH KANGESKHAN), and level up your pokémon, and raise it's happiness. It's pretty cool, and a good incentive to get some exercize in. :P
