This thread has completely derailed; hundreds of virtual travelers on this train of thought have now died of blood loss. Could we please get it back on track, or lock it?

No, I am waiting for Aestu to explain the question! >:(
I wouldn't hold your breath.

The first is rather trivial, but important to me. I am, in fact woman. I am well aware that the male pronoun is the most commonly used due to social conventions and I am not upset, just correcting that as being called a guy is a small pet peeve of mine.
And women making this point to me is one of my pet peeves. Women who point out that you used the wrong pronoun are invariably dramamongering *-*****s.
I honestly do not care about your gender. At all. I don't care what gender you are any more than I care what race you are or what country you're from or what you do for a living. All I care about is your level of ability.
But if you need to remind me of your gender - or actually care what pronoun someone uses to refer to you online - there's probably a reason why...
You are entitled to your opinion Aestu, but what's with the personal attack? I don't believe pointing out one's gender to be worthy of name calling. I was merely saying that I am a female and have a preference for being called such. I'm sorry that you have a tendency to offend women by calling them men and that the effects of your erroneous assumptions have left such scaring that you must be cruel to other females, but I think I was rather polite in my correction. If I offended, by all means, let me know in a reasonable manner and I will apologize.
As for the inference that I am possibly a man, that is a bit of a low blow don't you think? Most women I know dislike being referred to as a male, the same goes for men I believe. Most men I know would be up in arms if they were called a woman as such is a blow to the masculine ego, the same does apply to women, believe it or not.
I didn't post to start drama, nor do I want any. I just decided to express my opinion on the LFD for holiday bosses and world PvP. I do not appreciate the rather hateful comments you made and I have no wish to continue conversing with you.
Why do y'all respond to Aestu? Apparently, he/she has a bad reputation, so just ignore what he/she says, and eventually he/she might get off his/her high horse.
I wasn't going to stick my nose in it, but I couldn't resist.
I know better, but I also happen to be an optimist...I keep hoping that they will change and we can have a rational conversation.

I think Aestu just might be a troll. There was a guide up in the Dungeon/Raid forums here for a bit that was just unbelievably offensive that they wrote. I think it was removed due to complaints. I'm not to sure though.

Asylu, just give up, why do you bother...
Remember, this is Aestu's facebook/twitter/blog site, he/she is always right. So therefore, stop creating this the"D-word" by merely commenting while Aestu retaliates with his or her deep and hypocritical facts and emphasizing their meaning by attempting to use phrases and words that contain more than 6 letters to show his/her "intelligence" though i highly doubt that he/she has any, as this kind of the"D-word" happened in the last few threads in which Aestu posted in/created and i would have thought that if he/she had any intelligence, he/she would have used it to not post and ridiculous statements, such as
Casuals don't post on Wowhead
Therefore, speaking as the advice guy, i'm advising you just to stop infuriating this "self-proclaimed god" of his/her facebook/blog/twitter site.

When in doubt, pronouns revert to the masculine. Most of the hundreds of women I have raided with do NOT get offended when referred to as a "he" when I am unaware of their gender,
and I simply switch pronouns when I become aware of their gender
- although I often continue to refer to them as "he" because I realize that the mostly male playerbase has many immature elements and female players often do not like attention being brought to them based on their gender.
So if you are able and willing to switch pronouns for
raid members
when you discover their gender, why do you feel the need to jump on someone on these forums when they politely ask that you give them the same treatment?
If your ego is so brittle it is offended by being to referred by the opposing pronoun in an anonymous environment, that is your own, and not anyone else's, problem.
I love how you're acting like she freaked out on you about her gender when all she did was tell you she's a girl. Sounds to me like
your
ego is the only one being hurt here.

You're being disingenuous. You say I'm "entitled to my opinion" and you are "sorry"...that I have a tendency to offend women by calling them men.
In other words, you're assuming the pretense of a neutral or conciliatory post, while insulting me.
I was trying to be sympathetic to what seems to be your issue with woman who like to be referred by the proper pronoun, if it made me seem insincere I am deeply sorry and apologize. I guess my phrasing was unclear at that part and I was misconstrued.
I didn't post to start drama, nor do I want any. I just decided to express my opinion on the LFD for holiday bosses and world PvP. I do not appreciate the rather hateful comments you made and I have no wish to continue conversing with you.
This is a very common line I get from individuals like you. "I don't want any drama". The thing is...most drama is the result of the reaction to it. Where a socially well-adjusted individual would simply talk things through, these individuals are often inured to the drama they cause - and continually, time and again, project its causes onto others. So they are hasty to bring out the "D-word" so they can pre-emptively distance themselves from it.
The comments I made were not hateful. They were factual, based on my experience. I raid with many women, and probably many more whose gender is not known to me because they value their privacy and a peaceful and relaxing game experience. Gender only becomes a problem when it's brought to the fore by immature individuals, either women who seek attention or influence, or men who harass women or allow themselves to be controlled by their own hormones. Either way, I take action against the player instigating the trouble, not individuals who happen to have a certain gender.
Calling my remarks hateful is hypocritical. You are attributing evil intent where none exists, out of a self-interested desire to establish yourself as the "good guy".
The first is rather trivial, but important to me. I am, in fact woman. I am well aware that the male pronoun is the most commonly used due to social conventions and I am not upset, just correcting that as being called a guy is a small pet peeve of mine.

But I was not the first to use the "D-word" Aestu. You were, on the other hand. I was attempting to let you know that it was the last thing on my mind. So, I ask for an apology for being called hypocritical.
