Which class changes are iffy? The only one to me would be Tauren Paladins, and they seem to be only Paladins ina cosmetic sense.

Forsaken hunter. Undead-style ranger, yes; friends with animals, nope!
Mind control?
There was a pretty big outcry against nelf mages, though I'm not particularly bothered by that.
Nelfs
were
the first mages after all ;)
Dwarf locks seem a little strange to me, too.
/shrug. Dark Irons. There's also a dwarf warlock you meet in the quest chain from the Hinterlands, where you need to find the lost gryphon.

Exorcism, as an undead. Logic.
Holy Fire
and
Smite
, as an undead. Logic. :|
Edit: Not to mention the other handful of Priestly things that involve holy energy.

Exorcism is a specific attack to kill undead. The others are not.

Hrm, not quite. The only mention of undead is that it guaranteed crits them (and demons). But if you're going to look at Exorcism in a literal sense, then Holy Fire (among other priest moves too maybe, but I'd have to look through all of their spells) would be in the same boat.

Originally Exorcism could only be used against Undead and Demons, but Blizzard changed it because Paladins had like 3 attacks.

True, but irrelevant at this point since it can hit any mob type now.

Lore-wise though. Forsaken are also now considered "Humanoids" because Paladins could go roflstomp any undead player. Holy Wrath, Exorcism and Turn Evil all could only be used on Undead/Demon, and worked to great effect on Forsaken, so they changed them. In lore, they are still undead however.
Same principle applies.

I would point out though, re: exorcism, that exorcisms tend to be directed outward toward foes and not upon the paladin him or herself. At least, I don't *think* my paladin is into auto-exorcism. Sounds kinky.
It's the act of Channeling though. I'd think channeling anti-undead magic would be more painful than channeling healing magic.

why doesn't race matter in the case of the draenei
Why is it bad for the draenei to have Paladins? They left before the Eredar were turned into demons, so technically the Draenei are humanoids.

In DnD and other RPGs there are multiple deities, all with different views and alignments. Chaotic and evil gods as well. These chaotic gods, are also able to bestow their worshipers with holy magic to support their cause.
True, but DnD also required Paladins to be Lawful Good -- they can't worship any evil or chaotic deity.
I think it just comes down to what WoW defines a Paladin to be. Are they devout worshipers of the Light? What makes a Paladin different from a Holy Priest? Like I've said, if we already have Undead Holy Priests, what's to stop them from strapping on plate armor and wielding the Light the same way to heal? Why can't they vanquish their foes with righteous justice? The Scarlet Crusade is technically "evil," but gets away with it because they believe they are right. What makes Undead so different at this point?

Some of the mobs just north of Dalaran (undead - spider area) are obviously undead paladins, who use some of the paladins trade mark attacks (throwing shield etc.).
Someone else already mentioned them. They actually use "Hammer of Injustice," etc.
