Accept that you might want to go back to that normal to switch out that green to a blue to get better regen
While still a decent tip, be aware that colour means nothing anymore. Compare any
318 green
with a
318 blue
and you'll see. Same armor value, same stamina, same intellect, same secondary stat budget.
A general rule of thumb, however, is to take whatever is higher item level because of the higher stamina/intellect — I've seen a lot of people get 1-shot by boss abilities because they didn't have enough stamina to survive a simple mechanic.

But I haven't seen any attack from boss that would hurt for more than 30K hp and that can't be avoidable.
The second boss in Grim Batol, Forgemaster Something, did more or less oneshot you (the healer) if you didn't have a paladin in the group for the resistance aura and LoH. It is unavoidable and unpredictable in the sense that, by the time you see him jumping on you, you are already impaled. Good thing it has been nerfed.

Actually, on Cataclysm, healing is much more emocionant than in Wotlk, now you need to heal with 6 fingers, the end of healbot...

For the first a few minutes in a dungeon I was uncomfortable but then I adapted for a more mana efficient style of healing. (Chakra-heal-renew -combo was the base of it, I think.) I started feeling that the challenge is back in the game. In WotLK I often felt that healing was by far the easiest and lamest job to do - just running after the guys who were having fun, and always getting the blame if something - fortunately very rarely - went wrong.
Now I feel it takes skill to heal well and other people in the dungeon seem to get to appreciate the job, too. Do you agree?

Healing has really took a big redirection to now I go back to having alot of OOMs again. Which I actully love about. Before Wrath come out. I loved taking moments for a drink or two. Wrath came and mana was never really much of a problem for me leveling and raiding. Bringing a challange to healing is like adding sugar to my Rice Krispy cereal. It's a sweet taste and I enjoy it alot. During the ICc opening, I actully was tired of healing. Just the same old rotation of renew, PoM, Bubble.I leveled a protection warrior, (no other spec, always loved the sword & shield look) all the way to 72 till Cataclysm's release.
No matter what, Healing can be an enjoyable experiance that actully takes concentration on what spell to use and how to manage it's mana costs.

Out of all the instances I have ran, I haven't ran into many, if any problems with the healing mechanics as it sit. Yes we have low-end gear, and we can't spam flash heal all day anymore. The majority of the mana I end up using in any instance is due to someone being somewhere they shouldn't be. In a "smart" group, everything goes as smooth as butter healing wise.

This makes no sense...how does needing to use more mana efficient heals impact the usefulness of an addon that replaces raidframes with ones that build in your mouseover macros? It doesn't.

I said you need to heal with 6 fingers, not with infinite mana, now you can't just spam flash heal and PoM, that's why 6 fingers, got it? Think so.
Since healbot had only space for 3 spells you can't bind every ''6 spells'' in you healbot, sorry.

Priest healers are so broken.... its hopeless to heal any challenging content.
The heals are actually fine, but the mana usage is ridiculous.
Heal smarter. Welcome to Cataclysm, where you can't just spam.
I`m sry but thats a bit arrogant to say just like this.To not need to spam dpsers need to learn that they have to use their survival and cc abilities and also to avoid dmg.Untill you teach that to all the pugs you can not expect ppl not to spam because then we are the once getting kicked for letting them die...Making healing challening is good as long as you run with guild but not every1 has or wants to be in a guild
Thank you! Yes, it is like the healer is left to be responsible for trying to change the way the tanks and dps play... what I am finding as a druid heals especially leveled to 85...my preist at 82.5... I get kicked for expecting the tank and dps to cc mobs.. or wait so I can get mana...or if I can't keep everyone up in the group regardless of how carless they are... I am kicked.
I can see people quitting healing.. I may end up retiring my druid, don't know about my priest or shaman yet. Both at 82 and am not experiencing near the mana issues I have on my druid. But from what I am reading the spells get really expensive on preist and shamans too ...so we will see.
I have come in on several heroics that the healer either left or got kicked... most likely because the dps/tanks won't change how they play because the heals can not support the WOL playstyle.
It really sucks to get kicked on last boss in a heroic when they play recklessly, they die. but it is the heals who are kicked because of it. Gettin tired of cata healing. (but I do love healing :( )
