Vote kicked for saying "go"

Can you tell me how the vote kick thing works now?
Every time I tried, says player cannot be kicked for 2 hours, even if I haven't initiated a vote kick that day, yet my friend in the party could vote them but I couldn't.
Also, just got kicked for saying go, the whole party was just standing there, doing nothing, full HP/mana buffs etc, I say go, some guy says "shut up" then 1 min later I'm vote kicked.

Try using manners next time. You might not get kicked.
It's amazing how a little kindness can go a long way.
Or you can re-que and get you VP.
Manners are over-rated. This is the internet, where noone knows your face.

Also, they have a system in place where people who abuse the kick button don't get to use it as often. If you get messages like "cannot be kicked for 2 hours" it means you use it much, much more than the average player, and the game thinks you are abusing it. If they can kick you immediately, it means that they rarely ever use it, and so the game knows that if they choose to do so, there is probably a good reason.
BTW- I have never even heard of the timer going up to 2 hours- is this a new thing, or is it that the OP has been REALLY overdoing it with the vote-to-kicks?

I will never understand the people that find treating a someone like a living, breathing human being such a chore that it all goes out the window on the internet because "they don't know me, doesn't matter."
Have fun waiting in queue I guess?

I'm a tank. I que, run the dungeon and need on whatever I want. I'm good at my job, which is more than I can say for most randoms. (I've out-healed random healers with my self-heals.)
If I get kicked? I get a new random in mere seconds and just keep getting my points, gold, and gear. Got a problem with it? Go whine to your guild tank for an instant que or que as tank yourself.
I'm tired of trying to be nice in LFG. If randoms don't pull their wait, I don't pull them.

I hope that interstellar travel and colonization is available in my lifetime. The shift away from general respect and manners really drives me to want to get away from this world. :P

Example "Is everyone ready to get started?". I bet you 100g that if you said that, you would not have been kicked.
Where's my 100G?
<.<
You have to use manners first :)
Well, then.
Fellow Wowhead poster.
As you instructed, I asked my group using a polite tone if everyone was ready to start clearing the dungeon of its pesky inhabitants. The tone of the response cannot be described as anything but cold. Before even getting to start talking about what could possibly be wrong, I was forcibly removed from the group.
Since your bet involved me getting 100G, should this unlikely event occur, I'll be asking for that sum now.
Sincerely.
Anmity, a fellow Wowhead poster.
(Too formal? ;))
While the tone is nice, everyone is too lazy to be like that.
It wasn't even rude.
I just said go? Like everyone appears ready to start, then being told to "shut up" is hardly polite, and clearly shows the arrogance of said player(s) that would vote kick a player for a measly two-character word.

That is why it's important.

Saying something is overrated is, in fact, overrated.
