Internet tough guy's justification for being an idiot --- Well, I'm even more of an idiot in real life...
Never stops amazing me... People are something else when they have the protection of the computer. I imagine more people surfing these forums, myself included, are probably decent civilized human beings in real life, and only primitive apes when they can get away with it, without consequence.
But whereas some people try to be polite and kind, a certain rare breed decide, "well, I can't be a clown in real life, because I'll get my butt obliterated, but these guys don't know me, I'll be a D-bag." Pathetic... simply embarrassing.
I wish your mom's would cut off your internet children.

Somewhat of an aside: Is it still considered valid to invoke Godwin's Law if you happen to be on a forum discussing World War II?

If you're discussing the actual Hitler or Nazis, no. :P

No you grammer NAZI! (sorry couldn't resist)
It could be if you use the camparison to the nazis as a fallacious argument.
The over all point of comparing someone to Hitler is to negate their argument. Godwin's Law is in essence a type fallacious argument.

It can get annoying when DPS rush the tank. I do my pulls fast enough that there's no down time, yet slow enough that everyone can be prepared for the pull.
The guy probably just had annoying DPSers all day and you were just the last straw. He just assumed you were just as bad as everyone else.
And I am a firm advocate of the idea that how your online personality reflects what kind of person you really are.

I think this all comes down to the inability to send tone and body language via chat.
From experience, especially while tanking, when somebody says go what I hear in my brain is: OMG YOU %$^&^ NOOB GOOOOO! Even if in your brain you're saying, um guys I'm on a tight schedule could we get moving. If you did intend it the first way then you're a @#$%^& that needs to learn some patience; if you meant it the 2nd way using more than one word grunts is likely to help in interacting over the internet. Especially if you're a dpser primarily; waiting 5 minutes for your group to get coffee, pee, feed their kid, and/or read a novel is still a better option than starting another 45 minute que.
This is why I like to make good use of emotes, to make up for the lack of body language and tone lost in the written word =P
Highly agree. I don't use them because they're "cool" (I hate it when people spam them so guys i hate school :P :) !)

Generally, I can't imagine a group just sitting there if they were ready to go- it's not like they all entered the instance and then forgot why they were there. So...obviously...if they have not begun the pull, they are not ready to begin the pull. They could be explaining a fight in vent, the tank could be switching buttons or gear around, or whispering people with CC assignments. Trying to rush people is rude, and doing so in monosyllabic commands you would give a dog is even ruder. Minad's line is the rudest, but I think he's a troll and trying to get a response so that's to be expected.
So...yes, you do get kicked for being impatient and rude. It's funny how people decide they don't want to play with people who are like that. Go figure.

You might feel like WoW owes you because you tank, but you are wrong. And this attitude is exactly why Blizzard needs to implement a tank queue. Punch off because you don't like the dps? OK. 2 hour lock out of any content that awards money, points, or xp. Then tanks would stop acting as though there was a caste system and they are at the top. Sad that it has come to a point where one type of player has abused enough others, across all servers to where there is common acknowledgment of the problem of such abuse. Way to go...not only are you part of the problem, you seem to be the poster child for it.
While I do run into obvious jerks sometimes who exhibit a terrible attitude right from the very first pull completely unprovoked, I have to disagree with some of the things you say. There are a couple reasons why tanks have a huge advantage over dps. Having instant queues is one of them. While for you as dps there is a LOT to lose by getting kicked or having a group fall appart, the tank may lose a couple minutes and nothing else. Another is that a good and/or geared tank can make or break a group. I don't care how NICE the tank is if he queues in greens, takes hits in the back, stands in bad #$%^, doesn't know how to setup pulls etc.
I should say that while none of my 85s are tanks, I completely understand why tanks feel a bit superior to others.
I think that some people also don't realize is that there are several ways to be an #$%^&*! to people. One of them is the more obvious, just straight up rudeness to everyone for no reason. But the other way is wasting people's time by underperforming GREATLY in groups and making people carry you on their backs through everything. Sometimes you run into people who do both of these things simultaneously.

I don't usually say something to someone saying "go" unless it is a continuous "go go go" all the time and they can clearly see someone said "mana" or "need a sec" then I get irritated but only if it's throughout a whole dungeon every pull kinda thing. I understand people are sometimes in a hurry so unless it gets over used or they don't want to wait on the groups readiness it's no big imo

I wouldn't votekick somebody over saying "go" unless they were making a general ass of themselves in the group. Although you'd probably get better results by phrasing it differently, maybe "are we ready?" or something more polite.
