It's also a biological reaction, not necessarily physiological.

Morning wood?
Yeah true, but idk for me atleast it seems like it would be impossible to do that without atleast thinking of someone or something sexual.
Pumps and rings, or drugs. Also, direct stimulation should get it done. Just because they aren't sexually attracted to anything doesn't mean the nerves don't work anymore.
Certain medications and drugs can also work the oppisite way. Supressing or removing someones sex drive. Hormone based drugs, (IIRC, could be incorrect) can effect what people find arousing and sexually stimulating.
Capthca: Biocontrol tercu. Seems it's coming up with funny stuff again.

I actually just discovered the poll thread and then found this (wow I'm blind). Voted. Homosexual if you must know.

Is sexuality genetic?
and I dont mean for Homosexuality, I mean for all sexual orientations.
Insufficient data, I think. A compilation of studies seems to indicate that it is not purely genetic, but is a mixture of several factors - genetic, hormonal, neurological, developmental.

I think the reasoning is ultimately slightly different for everyone. I realllllllllllllllllllllllllllly hate to use this analogy because it's so unfair, but just like some people are predisposed to violent outbursts, some people are predisposed to a sexual attraction with members of the same sex.
I don't think "Nature vs Nurture" has ever been conclusively proved or disproved in relation to anything though.

So its not a choice; just biological and social reasons?
I don't think that sexual
attraction
is something you can necessarily consciously control. If it were, there wouldn't be repressed homosexuals, and there would
probably
be less non-heteros overall simply to avoid the ostracisation associated with it.

I won't say that for certain.
Within myself, I can say that I've rather carefully reviewed my own memories and was never heterosexual. But internal data like that isn't sufficient to say with certainty that a person is "born" gay or "born" straight.
As a counter-question, though: Why exactly does it matter if it is a choice?

Because homophobes are %^&*!@bags is really the best answer I can come up with. :P

Just because it's not genetic doesn't mean it's a choice, it just means you weren't born with it. Similarly to phobias, you don't
choose
to be illogically afraid of spiders, but you weren't born with it either.

Indeed.

If it were a choice, do you think anyone at all would be gay or bi? Sure it's accepted in some communities, but for the most part, life is a
lot
easier if you're straight. I will never understand why some people (mostly the heavily religious types) insist that it's a conscious choice when there are so many people all over the world who
really
don't want to be gay yet can't help who they're attracted to.
There hasn't been any conclusive research on what causes a person to have a particular sexual orientation. Though it does seem to be something that's set from early puberty onward, at least I've never heard of anyone suddenly experiencing attraction to a gender they hadn't previously been attracted to at a later age. Some people come out of the closet quite late, sure, but I don't think anyone's ever experienced an actual change in their orientation.
Personally, I can trace my attraction to other women back quite far into my past. But as xaratherus says, that's not enough evidence to say I was born bisexual.
I would want to stay gay. I find girls much better partners (apart from any sexual attraction) than guys, no offense guys =P

Girls are also much more visually appealing, and I know plenty of straight girls that agree with that. :P

To an extent I think the whole, "I'd be straight if it was a choice," depends on the environment in which you were raised.
I've always lived in a very tolerant household and have had limited personal exposure to anti-homosexual sentiment (debates on Facebook not withstanding - I expect to run into it when I'm discussing topics like marriage equality and religion). I wouldn't be straight if I had that choice.
If I'd been bullied and picked on constantly, and was regularly on the receiving end of "hate", then it might be different.
As an aside, this discussion keeps making me think of X-Men. :P No, I wouldn't cure my "mutation" even if I could do so without harm to myself.
