Not sure if this question is ok for here, but i just wondered how do you know if a dungeon goes bad, if its the healer or the group?
I've found that grief is common and gratitude is low being a healer. But, for example when all 3 DPS are taking damage and your keeping the tank alive, and things go *!@# up... Surely that's not the healers fault?
Been a bit frustrated lately trying to learn to heal

It depends on each situation. If almost everyone is invariably taking easily avoidable damage, it's likely that you won't be able to handle it unless your gear is spectacular, and even then perhaps not always. If you're using all of your tools to the best of your ability and avoiding damage, then it's probably the fault of somebody else.
Blaming the healer is the easiest thing to do for people in most cases, regrettably.

So, I resub and log my good old priest back. I flash heal for 25000 noncrit. I instantly think "DAMN, I've really been away too long, a Flash is enough to top me fully?". Remember, I had no talents.
I proceed to spec Shadow and watch in awe as 50k Mind Blast crits in rapid succession happen. I think "Something's off, isn't this _too_ much?". I check my stats. 2200 Spellpower, ok, so nothing wrong here. (Naxx level gear)
I continue for a while, buy a few Cata blues, and come back. I check my armor value...
178.
Thousand.
Yeah. The old inner fire was bugged, and I had it on in my last login. It essentially DOUBLED every single spell's effect I cast, and I had RIDICULOUS armor values (Of course 75% mitigation right off the bat.)
No, I didn't use the bug on anything but dummies, but that was hilarious.

Thinking of resubscribing again.
I haven't played in over a year.
I quit because I had bought a house, got engaged, and was playing stepfather to my fiancee's children.
Long story short, I'm single again and I'm getting the itch to play.
Zero responsibilities except for myself.

Hope you're good, Pachuca, glad to see you still remember us! WoW is a tad sleepy at the moment but from what I've seen people are trickling back (from D3 and such) now that the expansion has a date, and a fairly close one at that. Not too bad a time to come back I imagine.

Thanks Izichial! It's been a year since I've logged in, so I'm excited to catch up on all the changes, get some raid achievements for Firelands & Dragon Soul, and hit the new heroics in all my ilvl 359 gear and feel like a total noob again.
I heard the game's been going through the typical end-of-expansion lull, but there's still a lot that's new to me. I got bored of Diablo 3 after about a month, which is why I've got my eye on WoW again. Added game time this morning, so I'll probably be playing (or at least updating my addons) all night ;)

How is this the only thread that's alive?Thinking of resubscribing again.

Do you need a Scroll of Resurrection? (I'll refer you to someone - I have enough Spectral Wind Riders)

Not sure the thread qualifies as alive with all the month long holes in posting, undead maybe. :p
I actually tend to enjoy these end of expansion lulls a lot, no pressure to do anything at all, can poke around doing random achievements, archaeology or whatever all day when you have one and not feel you should've spent it on something else.
Also, those spectral mounts, so ugly. Scrolled a friend just after it was introduced and still haven't redeemed the mount to any character.

No thanks, I'm already back :)
Logged in over the weekend and got in some play time.

Yeah, I wish I could trade my Spectral flying mount (the $20 one from a couple years ago) for the Winged Guardian :/

Eep, a postmaster in the priest forum! For the purpose of buying stuff or making gold? :p
I'd tell you it was as easy as making one but apart from being self-evidently untrue it wouldn't be fair in the slightest as I showed up for my regular 1d/w alt raid as usual one week and our RL had organised a sellrun and has every week since and also takes care of all the tedious parts like finding buyers (not hard apparently since time to get DW HC mount guaranteed is running out), convincing them to part with a lot of gold and telling them what to do on fights ("suicide in the start" on everything that requires brain) in whispers so the rest of us can trashtalk them on ventrilo in peace.
Since I'm doing it on my rogue I basically show up, spend ~two hours doing something I enjoy with mostly old friends / people I like, collect clusters for legendary quest and get paid 20 000g for doing it. :D Since a sellrun is usually effectively 9man it's also enough of a challenge even on 30% that you push yourself and feel good when you do good. I also already have the DW HC mount on my priest from my now discontinued main raid (was also 1d/w, we got all the regulars the mount and then people got tired of farming DS :p).

Also just resubbed.
Not sure if I will raid or not, honestly depends how life pans out in the next month or so. I might.
Next question is, if I raid, what will I do? The old faithful holy priest is an option, but my guild (they still haven't gkicked my main after 18 months out of the game) have a holy priest who at one stage was one of the top 10 holy priests in the world, and is still by far the best holy priest on our server. Could maybe go disc but I was never a big fan of disc. I could go tankadin or retardin, the GM is a tankadin though, unless he decides to pick his old main back up (a rogue). Or I could go mage which I'm currently leveling.

So these are my initial thoughts for the talent build
Post by
Izichial
I went with
this
for disc.
Void Tendrils only thing I find even marginally useful in first tier (you can stop the hunter mobs in Hour of Twilight from disengaging away, wohoo). B&S over Angelic Feather because it's easier to apply when needed, like someone trailing behind because of debuff during frost phase on Hagara. Mindbender just a conservative mana choice, I'd probably pick FDCL if I raided and found mana to be fine. Angelic Bulwark because it activates automatically. Divine Insight mainly to try it out, the disc proc is decent though. Without FDCL I wanted at least some proc to play around with. For the L90 tier I'd probably go with Divine Star, it seemed to be well thought of by priests who've raid tested in beta.
Glyphs are fairly selfexplanatory but I'd probably switch out Inner Sanctum for Holy Nova on Madness HC for spellweave procs if I still raided on priest. Holy Fire glyph is probably also a decent choice.

I kind of like how the new talent trees are pretty much just a personal preference thing. The main holy priest in my guild (and therefore on my server) went with Dominate Mind in the first tier, so obviously he's found some use for it, and considering his credentials I'm certainly not about to question him.
After finally getting back into the game and running a lot of heroics, I'm thinking of switching from Desperate Prayer to Angelic Bulwark. There is very few occasions that I really need to get 30% back instantly, so getting 20% "back" without having to press a button to do it, and having access to it more often is starting to look more attractive.

I was actually a little uncomfortable not picking Dominate Mind, I never use(d) it but I like(d) having MC. :p I wonder how it'll play out in Challenge Modes?
I hadn't even had DP specced for a while because I barely ever used it and even when I did it was mostly for a free(?) heal when mana was tight. Passives are win.

I like the Priest talents. Tier 5 is a little iffy, but eh.

Divine Insight is pretty awkward for disc. I'd rather have the Holy version as it is; disc one would be a whole lot better if the proc shield had a Rapture ICD separate from the regular one.
