Yes, you may encounter people still thinking like that.
No, they're not a contribution to the group and can be kicked immediately.

If theyre doing their job theres no reason to kick them.
And yeah, youll still find those people but waaaay less. However, deathknights arent an easy class at all - you WILL have to do some research before getting into serious <anything>.

Only humorously, by the Guild.
I.e., if I somehow cause a wipe they'll be like "Wow, what a typical DK. Baddie." And then I'll make something about Paladins, etc.

People still think we're a two-button DPS class and that tanking as a DK is simply hitting Blood Presence and winning.

I stopped giving a damned how good people are if I have a strong desire to put a gun to their head. >>People still think we're a two-button DPS class and that tanking as a DK is simply hitting Blood Presence and winning. This seems to be the case a lot, yes.

I've yet to get any negativity on my DK in 5-mans... it probably helps that try not to be "that" DPS so I watch my aggro, don't stand in the fire, etc. etc.

I've been shouted at for being unskilled, playing an OP class and being a noob in a part with me as tank and the healer as top dps and damage done.
<3 60-65 dungeons.

started playing my Dk again because I notice another problem, I don't see many of the DKs past 80 anymore
people is going to hate you 58-80 anyway because your the "cheap class" back in the days DK was seriously OP compare to other people in LK (no I mean past the pala ret train patch) nowdays everyone is kinda OP to around 70 (when you stop 1-2 hit mobs)
want to start a dk? learn it, if someone say your doing a bad job, learn what your mistake are , low damage? low threat? die in no time? ect
if they still just a ass/rant on everything answer something like this " _/^.^\_. you just jealous because I get free weapon enchant" or something

I don't see it on mine, you still get the occasional "lolDK" but most people respect the class if the player is good, and of course ridicule the baddies who use +Int plate or similar as they should. DKs are still fairly easy (of course my main is a Pally so I can't say anything xD) but a good change of pace and I enjoy going Unholy.
Of course now I have faction changed so my DK is a Worgen to boot so I'm sure I'll get insulted twice over :)

Yes, but then again Hunters have been suffering since '04.
Errata: The people who ridicule are usually bad players, extremely elitist players, or something like that.

For some reason 6/8 last DK tanks I've seen in lvl 85 randoms all didn't have a single piece of tanking gear, they just thought they would be able to tank with just talents and get a shorter LFG queue. Most of them didn't even bother to get the tanking runeforging enchant. One of them had bracers that were less than 200 in ilvl, and had a +3 int enchant on his axe.
So regardless of how good the players posting here actually are, just to let you guys know from an outside perspective, most of the other DK players out there are not doing much to lessen the stereotype.
Now I always gearcheck my DK tanks before we wipe on trash mobs.

6/8 most
Eight random Death Knight tanks queing for a random dungeon (heroic?) is such a large sample size that really shows the class as a whole for all the niches it fills no matter what. I hope you continue your amazing data collection and continue to inform the world with your rich well formulated and well backed opinions.

This was simply the most recent memory I've had of encounters with deathtards. Nowhere did I say that this was the only time I've seen a death knight geared wrong, specced wrong, and/or playing wrong.
Let's be honest though. I know (or at least I
hope
) you could have figured that out just from reading my post. You were simply jumping on an opportunity to try to make someone else look like an idiot.
I sincerely appreciate the sarcasm though. Really adds to the discussion, it does.
Edit: Just was in
another
heroic where the DK tank was geared completely wrong. Just a crazy coincidence, I guess.

I've also seen a kitty druid trying to tank, warrior tanks using two-handers, paladin tanks in intellect-gear...
WoW has a lot of stupid people. It's not exactly exclusive to DKs.
