Why not loosen the money reigns and open WoW up to 3rd party/player created content? Why not allow others to host custom instances?Because this is Blizzard's game, not a fan based text game? And if they created 'player created content' do you realize how much the !@#$%ing and whining would increase because someone who thought he had a 'great' idea but doesn't get it added in and would then go on a roaring rampage into their forums, calling them out? Plus, we don't need things like that in the game; I know if I started seeing player ideas implemented, I'd probably start considering getting a different game.

Hi there. I am a relatively new player to WOW, as I only started playing in WOTLK. There is so much content in this game that it is truely amazing. Yet, I DO understand the OP's concern. Every game I have played I have heard the same type of feelings expressed by players who have "been there done that".
The OP is bored. That has killed the game for him. My sympathys to him as it is hard coming back from that jaded perspective regardless of what game you are playing. The reality is no matter how we want to candy coat it, it is a GAME. Games have set rules, and functions. They can slap new content in, new graphics, add new questlines but ultimately the underlying mechanics remain the same.
For myself, and obviously, millions of others this is not an issue. We are still exploring, doing achieves, leveling crafters and alts, and beating our heads against the game. The game is evolving slowly, but holding true to the inalterable core ruleset. It may have lost its shine for some, but for me, it still glows brightly.
Dear OP, its time to move on. You need a break at the very least. However, if you cannot sever yourself from the game, please consider this. YOUR discontent is affecting everyone you play with and may be ruining a STILL enjoyable experience for your ingame friends. The kind of feelings you have can tear apart guilds if allowed to fester. So, suck it up and man up. Quit and be done with it or keep it quiet so you don't ruin the game for others.

I remember the first few months of king and dungeons were not a walk in the park.
Most of my guild was 78-80 and we got hacked. The guild bank was dry.
So five of us set off to do every dungeon....NO LFD and you can only do a dungeon once a day and with our super gear (or lack of LOL) I remember us breaking for supper before the last one.
We flew every where and it was a long day.
I healed them all on my druid and learned a lot that day.
I was trying to remember if toc was even in at that time. I don't think so.
Nax was fun and we were hearing about another raid coming and would be somewhere in the north.
2 of those friends that day quit playing even before the end of king for personal reasons that had nothing to do with cata or changes.
1 Quit 2 months ago to play rift and cursed the day cata was released.
man those were fun times. Would I do this again in cata, sure if asked to. Would I want to tank or heal the typical people you get in LFD HELL NO
is it because of the people....NO its because of the mess that buzzard has made with the classes and goofy weekly mechanic changes of healers and tanks. And I have tanked and healed most everything so I can do it but without friends its not fun at all.

on the linear questing.
Man in vanilla me(21 warlock) and old blue went to duskwood.
Man I was amazed and scared :)
then I started to get the quest.
go kill a ?
Hey anyone know what a ? is and where they are.
AT the grave yard.
ok where is that
Just start walking (yea we walked) and walked and walked.
Up the hill right before the bridge.
and spent all day trying to find some guy and getting exp about 100 a mob.
HEY I made 22 and its only 5pm
it was a good day.
We spent more time on the internet trying to find out if anyone knew where a hair brush was than playing.
NO there were no $50 leveling guides and no maps.
TRY that NOW and you will hear people say F that. (me too ROFL)

I will agree that most of the EXTRA COST things should not exist. Yep change a 3 to a 5 $10
change a 35 to a 36 $25.
YEP its a LOT of work on those things and we are sooooo overworked.
the posting of how their player base has expanded.
FUNNY WORDING they use there.
12 million
5 million quit
cata comes out they have 10 million
2 months later its down to 8 million
they can say they GAINED 3 million users when cata came out.
they can say they have 10 million users.
They can say anything they want and then if they were ever pushed they can just say a date and a number and say it was valid when the numbers were collected.
but you can bet your last penny on one thing they, won't report is that 5 million or the 2 million that quit.
these are made up numbers...maybe I work for blizzard LOL
====================
sorry I was not clearer about the hair brush.
IF you didn't get the hair brush you could not get the monocle....yep a quest chain at level 21 in vanilla.
There have been a ton of quest chains even in the beginning.
but at that time all I knew was that I wanted to do the quest and get to a level that allowed me to go to the next area. IF the area had 100 quest and I did 33 and made a level that let me go so be it. I was not sticking around for the others I wanted to get max level. That is how I thought you played and still do.
the problem you mention now is a lot worse. in Deepholm if you don't do a TON of quest you don't get to the Therasene line and the rep. (sorry for spelling) and that is a big thing I had to do...matter of fact I did all quest in all areas on at least one of my 85's (6) with guild rep and rested I didn't do much in the last area on any chrs after my first. What that one called on the alliance side....I are cornfused. Highlands?
