Doesn't matter if they stayed in one season or not, they would have come to that problem at some point. Unless all the children die in the second book.

Do you know what the word exacerbate means?

Yes them splitting up the second book exacerbated the problem, but keeping it all in one season wasn't going to make it any better.

Rickooooooooooon <3 Even the actor said he didn't even know he was on the show, but finally. He's a little cutiepatootie. I'm forever ashamed of thinking Bran is kind of hot though, I mean he's like 15, tops? BUT WHITE EYES, AHHH.
I never cared for Talisa but did they really have to kill her like that? They could've have cut her throat or something?
I guess the writers like to be as terrible as possible.
The scene was fine. Stop over scrutinizing something because it didn't match what you imagined it would be.
Also it's not about it not being what we imagined, it's about it being completely rewritten to not have the same inpact and meaning anymore. I mean the consequences of them dying will be the same, but not the memory (?) of it.

Uh, by definition, it would make it better because the actors would be that much younger?

Yeah, it takes a year to shoot a season, without the break that year wouldn't happen so the actors wouldn't have... aged.

What about for the next seasons? It is inevitable that they would age.
And just because there is a break between seasons doesn't mean they are taking a break from shooting.

No but the season after would be a year later. Simple math, broski.
maybe people who like the phantom menace don't understand logic

Even if they condensed it all into one seasons, lasting ~14 episodes, they still would age in the next seasons. So they were stuck with this problem from the beginning.

But they're supposed to age, because time moves in the book series too.

That, unfortunately, is one of the problems with the series. IIRC GRRM wanted to have winter arrive in like the second book, and was going to implement a five year time skip. As it stands now winter just finally arrived at the end of book 4/5, and he decided not to do the time skip since so many of the characters are in situations where they can't just be left alone for five years without being touched.

Yes, but the books represent a 3 year period of time, which is more my point.
I mean, realistically, age of actors / actresses isn't a huge deal in the scheme of things, relative to production value, but it would potentially have a big impact on some of the younger cast members.

Bran went from 8 years old to to like 15 in two seasons. Well that's not true but I think he hit puberty or something and looks completely different (book bran wouldn't be old enough to do that, but they did age him I suppose). But that's the issue with child actors. I mean sansa has grown in to quite the woman.
Arya hasn't aged though.. and Rickon never existed.

Since they've already aged all of the kids anyways....
Not enough they didn't. And splitting the single story up into two seasons only exacerbates the problem. All of the kids were aged roughly 2-5 years compared to what they were in the books(Robb and Sansa being the most obvious ones).
As for splitting it up; it happens now a days and isn't really something to start splitting hairs over. Considering the sheer size of the books, and the fact that for both of the previous seasons they did cut things out, I actually prefer that they are more or then likely going to keep separating the seasons...especially since the 6th book still isn't out yet =P.

You really didn't notice any kind of dip in quality in season three when compared to season one and two?

Some questions:
- Will we have to wait another WHOLE year after next week's, season's finale?
- Howmany more seasons will come?

Till about March next year, yes. 5 books are finished, and we're just over halfway through the third now. The showrunners have predicted they can pad for seven seasons overall with the current content, and then the sixth book should be out giving them another two seasons' material while the final book is written. The showrunners roughly know the ending, in case GRRM dies before completing the books, but not all the little details.
Also, I'll make this point about criticism of the show's handling of things because I missed it yesterday:
The show is an adaptation of a series of books that people have loved for years with scenes that were specifically written because you couldn't imagine making them happen on tv/in a film. Whilst it's an overall good adaptation, there are changes that have been for the worst. The reason we nit-pick so much is because the quality of scenes such as Daenerys' scene in 3x05 (whitewashing/brownfacing of the slaver aside) have set the bar of the show very, very high, and they don't always meet those expectations, or deliver a fully faithful version of characters/events from the books. Criticism is valid.
