1: you necroed a 3 year old thread just to add basically nothing good to it?
Looking at every post you have made in this thread Promuziuz, you have added nothing but misleading information or attempted to argue with the people who have corrected you. None of the optional services are mandatory. You dont "have" to play on a laptop, you don't "Need" MoP or WoD to start playing. Having MoP doesn't make you level up faster....(No idea where you got that idea, unless you are talking about the 1 potion that gives you 300% XP until you die or an hour, whichever comes first).
All that being said, for someone who wants to start playing WoW, it is a very minor investment initially.
Welcome to the forums. Might want to take a few minutes and read up on the rules about double and triple posting and necroing threads that are old and outdated...

Im only saying the trust about that, its ok you guys are a fan of that game... one thing is be a fanatic and the other thing is playing using the common sence... reading everithing.
And one question how many years are playing wow?(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##ElhonnaDS##DELIM##Ok- I just had to clean up a whole mess of double, triple and quadruple posts in this thread (sorry guys- busy day). If you have more to add after you post, don't make a new post. Just use the edit button and add to the last post.
On a side note, I'm going to leave the thread open here tentatively, because there is a discussion going on and there doesn't seem to be much here to confuse people by being an older thread. That being said, I hope everyone continues to play nice-ish.

I played from 2004 - 2011, steadily. I played on and off through 2013.

Going on 9 years with a few 6 month breaks during pre-expansion boredom. And before that I played Everquest for 8 years.

Not true.
I must repeat myself here: For a new user to the forums, you're not exactly doing a fine job leaving a good first impression.
one thing is be a fanatic
And now you insult us. You really should work on your people skills. Just putting it out there.

I will give a refresh about the expansions...
vanilla= basic WOW,
Burning Crusade= unlocks Draenei, blood elf, Silver moon, Exodar and the Dark Portal.,
Wrath of the Lich King unlocks Deathknights and Northend continent,
Cataclysm Unlocks the eye of the storm, worgens and Gobblins,
Myst of Pandaria Unlocks the Pandaren, Monk and the continent of Pandaria.
In other words if you want to get a Full WOW experience, all expansions are required...

Right, and all expansions come in the battle chest for $20. Then you can buy Pandaria for $20. $40 total. You don't even need Pandaria until the end, so you can cut that out of your initial costs.
In fact, I played for several months without Pandaria (still don't have it) and had fun.
Post by
Promuziuz
Well if the person want the monk class will need the Myst..

Cool. That's $40 to start playing. Not a bad investment, if you're into these kinds of games.

When the first month expires and if the person dont have a credit card, he will need to buy a prepaid of 3 months. I will not include the new expansion because i dont know exactly what unlocks. But his cost is $50. $40 its a good start, but on long term if he play 6 months using the prepaid, he will add 60 aditional bucks to the equation, but if he have a credit card, maybe he will be able to get some savings.

So? That's the combined total. That boils down to, after the initial investment, $15 a month. That's not a bad deal.
Post by
Promuziuz
40+ 15 x 4 months (excluding the free month)= $100 invested on the game on a term of 5 months.

But you're leaving out how much time you spent on the game. If you spend two hours on the game per day, that's ~60 hours a month, *4 = 240 hours. That's around $.50 an hour, less if you play more of the game.
If you play the game a lot, and you enjoy it, it's worth the money. If it's not, then it's not. Why do you keep asking about this? Are you trying to prove a point? We've given you the numbers and proven your points wrong. Do you have anything new to add, or are you just going to restate your previous points? If the latter, I suggest you stop posting and move on (as that's what I'll be doing).

this shows how uninformed you are and why you need to STOP.
1: Blood Elves and Draenei are unlocked by default, even if all you have is one of the free trial accounts. Ditto for Silvermoon and Exodar.
2: Cataclysm doesn't unlocks Eye of the Storm, that's a TBC battleground.
3: Pandaren are unlocked by default even without pandaria. Same for their starting zone.
4: ALL OF THE EXPANSIONS have been folded into one single purchase: The battlechest.
As soon as you buy that (less than 20 dollars) you automatically have every single expansion in a single bound. The only thing missing is Mists of Pandaria which is not required until lvl 85, which for a new player would take at least 3 weeks to reach.
When the first month expires and if the person dont have a credit card, he will need to buy a
prepaid of 3 months.
For the love of all that's holy, stop lying, and stop spreading misinformation. Just how uninformed are you? Are you making stuff up now?
1: There are no prepaid cards of 3 months.
2: Once the first month has expired and the person doesn't have a credit card, there are other options, since the prepaid cards come in 30day and 60 day flavor. (15 dollars or 30 dollars respectively)
At this point I'm ready to directly call you out as trolling. There's no way anyone would be this ignorant by accident.

Well its the same 100 dollars invested on 5 months. And one question? I said WOW its expensive? NOT, and why you guys are acting like that. The plot of this thread says It is World of Warcraft Expensive to play?... The only way to show that is with numbers and I just did an open answer. The thing is.. Blizzard are making expansions to be used, not to be unused, in other words those expansions need to be included on the equation, plus the monthly fee, because the players are paying monthly to play. For some people can be expensive, but for some people is not... I don't care how you guys invest your money. I just did my answer.. If you guys liked... I don't care, if you don't like it...I don't care too... Bye ;) and have a nice Game at the great universe of WOW!

Its still playing with perceptions. Its not the same spending 100$ to start playing, than spend 100$ over half a year.
100$ over half a year is quite cheap.
Blizzard are making expansions to be used, not to be unused, in other words those expansions need to be included on the equation
The difference however is that you don't need them to START playing. They're needed when you reach the point where its content is available to you. To put this in context, look at Diablo 3. 40 dollars for the game, and I think 45 for the expansion.
That's almost 100 dollars. But do you NEED the expansion immediately? NO. You do not. You buy the initial game, and then buy the expansion when you reach the point were you actually reach its content.
I said WOW its expensive? NOT
Yes you did. Because you're taking a staggered expense and clumping it all together to make it sound like its a lot of money.
If I said you need 180$ investment to play wow, I'd technically be telling the truth, BUT, that's what you spend over a year. You also said A LOT of lies about the game (Such as the game "demanding" to buy from the gameshop all the little cosmetic gizmos to "enhance your experience", and clumping together the price of a laptop into the equation as well) and a lot of misinformed "facts" about what each expansion unlocks (Completely neglecting that the game no longer has multiple "expansions". All of them were folded into a single game: World of Warcraft. Right now its just wow + MoP. That's it. All the other expansions have been fused into one single game. Its no longer possible for you to just buy vanilla and that's it.)
and why you guys are acting like that.
Gee, I dunno, it could be the lumping of a gaming laptop into the cost to start playing, the lumping of several months of subscription in one go as if that was a requirement (instead of.... I dunno.... pay the sub little by little every month like everyone else would), and the complete fabrication of what's required to play. You've gone out of your way to make it sound like playing this game requires someone to sell their eye sockets and their soul, when in reality all it requires is 20 bucks and a quick installation and you're set to go.
The only way to show that is with numbers and I just did an open answer.
But you didn't. Your numbers were patently wrong.
And he blatantly fabricated A LOT of his "facts"
