As far as the topic, if they're willing to pay for five accounts and take the time and effort to set it up properly, let them. They're not imbalanced because the difficulty of controlling multiple characters raises exponentially with each character. Just like any cheese strategy it's easy enough to counter, fear bombs and CC's to get them out of position, or simply outplaying them. Five people are capable of considerable more tactical advantage than a single person splitting their focus between five different characters. If you can't out-think him, it's your own fault.
Very true. Multi-boxing is legit, and all fine. I'm always (more or less) impressed when I see some around, but I must admit that it's very rare that I do.
However, arguing this point is a fruitless endeavor as you have clearly shown your ignorance and I doubt any argument, no matter how valid will sway that ignorance.
The good thing about threads is that you don't only have to argue against a single person. As far as I can see, the discussion is going pretty well, and has a lot of different people in it - with different points and opinions. That's how a discussion is - until someone goes haywire ...
Can an admin seriously lock this steaming @#$% pile?
... with his opinion. I don't see the problem with the discussion at all?

Personally, I don't like paying to play a game where one player who is Multiboxing can kill me, in front of my factions' guards, and then kill them also, and continue camping me until I stop playing for the day, due to inability to play the game I'm paying for. Of course, getting killed goes along with the game, but being camped by someone who controls 5 (or more) characters with one keystroke, for hours on end?
Multiboxers, what a pack of morons... we all laugh at you
1: Consider this: he pays several times more then you (most of the time its 5 character, usually shamans, lol). Wasted money from their pockets. The money actually goes to your benefit in the long end, blizzard uses them to develop new content for example.
2: Multiboxers are twats, and usually realy bad at the game. They are HATED by all. By enemies because they can oneshot you if you let them get you of guard, and by allies because the will always get your BGs lost.
Always
. On my server, when doing tol barad (and old WG) multiboxers are fiercly gang-ripped, by everyone. /spit etc. We actually dont have any horde multiboxers on my server what im aware of (im horde my self) but we have a few alliance MBs, and its so great tbh, alliance dont even heal them in BGs. They are lauged at by the enemies, and intesly dispised by their allies.
3: Get one or two friends/random people to help you kill them, they are easily defeated I promise, just use CCs to mess them up. Just go: /1 Multiboxer at "location", help me kill the kid. Then camp them
4: If not nr3, log an alt, or go make a sandwich or something.
5: Your post didnt get deleted because you wanted to start a discussion about multiboxers, if was because you were nerdraging
6: Multiboxing may not be bannable, but corpsecamping (for hours) is. "deliboratly ruining other peoples gameplay" or something like that, I dont know the Terms of agreement by hearth. But its like hunters misdirect-to-healer-pulls then FD, or when tanks ninja-pulls in hcs then leave group, or when kids spam the duel-button then followes you around and verbally abuses you for not accepting, or tards spamming trade-chat, or BG leechers... bad behavior IS reportable, and repeatedly reports on acts like that WILL get people banned or suspended, just keep reporting them. Im not saying people will get insta-banned for being idiots, but if they act like that for some time (and people report them) they will at least be suspended. (Id like to take the opportunity to encurage the community to REPORT THE IDIOTS ONLINE, instead of biting your fists or just saying "damn kids". Report the ninjas, the spammers, and the game-wreckers, it would be a better game allready if more people did)

Feelings about it aside, I don't understand how one can control 5 seperate characters with one button and that's ok with Blizzard. Look at their stance on macros, they don't even let you cast certain spells in order, or whatever, never mind entire characters.

Read the EULA. You're not even buying a game. Blizzard will swat out with vague motivations whenever it deems the time right. Since community has established this takes a bit longer than in the good ol' days.

Because absolutely nothing about multiboxing is automated. Think of it this way: you can string together as many non-GCD abilities as you like in a macro, but you still have to press the macro. It's condensed, but not automated.

Because it's an external program giving you the ability to do something there is no way you could do otherwise.

Not really; as again, it's still you hitting the buttons to activate the abilities.

No, really. Unless, do you really think one person could work 5 accounts without this programme, at the same time, as they do when MBing?
I'm sure Blizz's stance is they don't mind things as long as they help you do something you could do anyway. Boss mods, you can do without. Same with all macros etc etc. But you couldn't do this.

I dunno about you but I can't simultaneously mark all 8 people that get the debuff in BH 25 without a macro. I can't simultaneously pop a trinket, my herbalism cooldown, my Orc racial, and my wolves on my enha shaman*. Macros and mods let you do stuff you couldn't do without all the time.
*Honesty note: I don't do this anyway. I press them all separately because I am too lazy to make macros. But I want to stress that I can't press them all separately simultaneously.

True, that's the grey area for me.
Yes.
Mouseover macros, castsequence.
Grey.
What you mentioned.
No.
Multiboxing, one-button macros.

Well, as long as you realize that your distinctions are completely arbitrary, it's fine if you make them.

I don't see multi-boxing as a problem, and it's pretty rare that I actually see an instance of it.
