And the idea of needing it is still just your opinion.
And again, it wasn't a need. Needs are food, water, shelter, ect. Noone was going to die if they didn't revamp the old world.
You could die from boredom trying to level a new alt through that slog that was Vanilla era questing. And if you are going to drag that in here: You don't need anything in Warcraft, as it's not essential to your life, so you can't actually complain that they changed anything.

Way to take the definition of "Need" to a whole 'nother level.
So there's only a few things we can do at 85...=(
Prior point has been made, I think.
(If people don't get it, this is sarcasm, but we really could use something in addition to what we have at 85. It's clear raiding, dungeons, and PvP, etc do not cut it anymore)
I agree, but I really cant think of what else Blizz could add without it either being "silly" (like some kind of mini-game), or just another tedious grind (read: Archeology).
One idea that I had is to add in Solo "raid-style" content. Lately, I have been seeing just what older content I can get through solo on different toons. And its actually been pretty fun to have to work through boss mechanics and such. The bummer though, is their is limited reward for the effort. I think an actual "Solo Raid" would be pretty cool. Something that you would have to work for, wipe on, and progress through...but only by yourself. Even if the reward was only VP's, and maybe a chance at sub-tier gear, it would maybe add something better to time-sink with other than repetitive dailies.
I do realize that it would be a nightmare to create. Especially since each class has such different solo abilities.
I actually love the idea of a raiding + solo combo. A solo raid that actually takes skill
and
rewards current level usable loot/other items would be absolutely epic.
Add it so that it's You vs. and you've got a whole solo raid + PvP circumstance there.

You can complain about it, just don't go saying they need to do something.
And I loved the old questing. Running half-way around the world was like an adventure for a single quest. I felt like I was actually doing something in a huge and expansive world, as opposed to just playing a game.

1-60 leveling could have used a little sprucing up. There were areas that the story really should have moved forward after 6-7 years of being the same. The whole Wailing Caverns storyline is an example of doing it right: pushing the story forward without being completely tied in with the current expansion's main storyline.
The problem is the areas that are too tied into this expansion's story. If, for example, Sylvanas dies, you have a whole zone where you interact with her directly (Silverpine) that will suddenly be very out of place chronologically. Where before you had players running through and doing quests for NPCs that didn't necessarily relate to some huge, overarching plot (aside from developing the plague).
More to the point, though, Vanilla 1-60 didn't have time-hopping shenanigans. You could consider your character having started around when original WoW took place, going through the years as s/he levels into Outland, and then Northrend. Had they just spruced things up a bit, rather than completely revamping everything, that flow could have remained.
In a perfect world, Blizzard would return the original 1-60 leveling experience, complete with continent-spanning quests and class quests, with a few touch ups. How? Nozdormu pulls out some wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff and we get a reset, sans Deathwing.
If you're saying that Blizzard should've deleted the entire EK & Kalimdor (which raises the point, how did Northrend avoid
everything
?) and replaced it with completely new continents in a new world, maybe leaving Azeroth with Northrend and Outlands in Outlands, then that is a very interesting idea. It would've taken a whole lot of resources to do, but it'd be almost like a new game. However I can't see you using 2 continents (or more?) to go from 80 to 85. However if I described what you were saying, that's a very interesting idea.

I... how did you get to that from what I said?
From this part...
How? Nozdormu pulls out some wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff and we get a reset, sans Deathwing.
Best excuse I have.

I said a bit, as the leveling was entertaining, (At least for 80-85, 1-60 is as bland as ever imo, just quicker.), then you reach level cap and it's... a brick wall. You have your choice of running Zul'Aman and Zul'Gurub endlessly, doing some raids that were... fairly bland (Again, in my opinion), though I haven't tried Firelands so I reserve judgement, endlessly doing Molten Front dailies or... archaeology or...
Well, basically everything is a massive grind now, no matter what you do. It has some upsides to it, but for the most part it just quickly becomes tedious. I would love to see more support for small group interactions, without requiring raids to see content. I know this will likely draw ire from those extremely hardcore, but quite frankly raiding isn't worth the hassle to many people I know. If raids were available in a smaller setting, with more support for small groups of friends, they would likely see a lot more people actually doing them. Raids requiring more people almost seems like an attempt to extend the longevity of the patch/that raid by making it a sheer pain to actually do it.

Lol at the people that White Knight bad developers.
I don't White Knight anyone; I really don't care. I'm still enjoying Cata; if you truly have such a massive rage against GC, quit the game to prove a point rather then just keep giving money to something that makes you unhappy. There, your future ulcer for worrying over nothing is solved.
