When a player can't get the money he wants, he must reduce his asking price.
Or whine and complain and lead to the NBA lockout...

I don't care, honestly. The NBA is screwing itself over, might as well let them.
Totally agree with you.

The only way for the system to be fixed at all is for the max player salary to be lowered. If the oweners agree that players are getting too much, they have the power to drive down salaries, by simply refusing to sign contracts at too high a value.
Once again, a player is only worth, what an owner is willing to pay...
The problem is that if one owner doesn't agree, another that has more money to offer will.

I, for one, actually want to see some basketball, because this is the last year that my beloved Celtics have any playoff shot at all.

Meh. College basketball > NBA, imo. So I still really don't care.

I agree, in all sports i think college is better. You have something you are playing for. Mostly rivalry bragging rights, it makes the games worth watching for me.

NBA lockout is pretty much over, they shouldve accepted the last deal, they lose about 3 paychecks instead of 1 with the old proposal, they miss out on 10 extra games, the are not going to get as much of the basketball related income thats split between players and owners at the end of the season, least amount will be 49% max will be 51% down from the previous 53%. And the owners slipped in some things to the system they didnt and wouldnt have had to agree to with the past proposal. So pretty much the players decided to not listen to their agents and the union and just sign the deal so they dont go a year without pay, im sure a big majority of the players are kicking themselves in the ass passing up a better deal only to have to settle with a worse now. Their dumb fault though.

Im pretty sure the newer of the deals is better, the previous offer wasn't 53% and never has been. That 53% is what the players said the would go down to, owners wanted 47-48% to go to the players. They got a better deal in this offer, even though they still got the short end.

i dont care about the NBA anymore.
this is why monopolies are bad. when they have internal problems and cant provide services that we need, we have no outlet.

Pretty sure the 47% and stuff was the offer they were going to give the players after they smacked that Anti-Trust lawsuit down in courts, players knew they werent going to win that battle and the results was this 15hr meeting where the players basically gave in, this deal isnt far off from the one they rejected. But a hell of a lot better than the one they wouldve had to sign later next year.
