I'll be very curious how Blizz will manage to NOT screw up Monks. The last totally new class they introduced was the DK and they were so obscenely OP that it took Blizz forever to bring them back down to earth. Also, what niche will it fill? We already have 4 healers (priest, pally, shaman, druid), 4 tanks (pally, druid, warrior, DK), 6 ranged dps (priest, shaman, druid, hunter, warlock, mage) and 6 melee dps (pally, druid, warrior, DK, shaman, rogue). It just seems to me that whatever the monk will do is either duplicative of something already being covered, or will be such a focused niche that it will be totally OP or UP (I'm leaning toward OP).
To me it just sounds like a total money-grab by Blizz when they SHOULD be focused on creating NEW CONTENT that doesn't suck. Pandas.......God help us all, this wasn't what I got into WoW for. I want to hit an orc or a human in the face with an axe, not feed bamboo to a fat non-breeding evolutionary dead end.

Of course who doesn't want their very own Dragon Warrior. I'll call mine Po.
Lol, who wont?
considering that you can't make names with special characters on them anymore (Specifically ¨ ´ ^ and `) that means there will only be 1 "po" on each realm.
You "could" reserve a name, but its completely useless, as you'd have to delete the toon with the reserved name in order to make the pandaren, and at that point you'll be slammed with the "You can't add special characters to your name" wall.
so yeah, there won't be a legion of po's out there, just the one. per realm.

Here's a break down of the WoW games thus far...
(redacted)
...Im looking forward to this expansion, because I will love to see Blizzards artistic style applied to an Eastern fantasy theme. Yes, Im rolling a panda monk first thing.(

Nice recap.
My own feelings are a bit mixed. Everything seemed to build up to Wrath of the Lich King. Once that huge story-arc was completed, after several years, Blizzard realized they needed to start in some new directions. Cataclysm was a pretty decent expansion. You could almost see a bunch of well-paid developer-nerds sitting around, brainstorming something to top off Wrath of the Lich King. ("I've got it!.... The ENNNND of the WOOOOORLD!")
However, someone must have realized that you can only start getting bigger and bigger with some things for so long. This is going to impact not just future expansion design, but the actual game itself, as stats (on characters leveling up, and on items for each successive expansion) begin to exponentially grow more and more from one expansion to another. This is something they've talked about a bit in blue posts over the past few months. As a result, though?
Mists of Pandaria has the lesser feel of... an additional content pack, and not an epic new chapter in the flow of the game. I sort-of wonder why they chose to bring in only one new race instead of two. Perhaps because it was such an issue for some when the Alliance got Worgens (Hordies were MAD!) and the Horde got Goblins? (Lore nerds came to blows with one another over what it all meant, as if Blizzard has ever paid attention to complete consistency in their fictional universe) Or, why they only brought in one new class. But then, Death Knights were a fiasco. I also feel a bit uneasy about Blizzard
twiddling with the talent system
again
. Some of the options are interesting. Some are not. And some of the other improvements desired by fans have now been defined as impossible within WoW's current framework. On the other hand, like Windcrusher, I am excited to see what Blizzard will do with a Far Eastern theme. I would love to finally be able to deck out my Shammy or Paladin like a Samurai of old.
Ultimately, I am trying to reserve judgement until there is more information. I am being cautiously optimistic, while also feeling a bit of pessimism. It is apparent (to me, at least) that WoW is showing its age. Much more importantly, I have noticed no improvement in Blizzard's handling of situations reported to them... which, motivates me to begin looking elsewhere. And there are many "elsewheres" popping up, now and in the near future, where the customer service policies of the Developer have got to be equal or better than those of Blizzard-Activision. (Especially, if they want to cut into Blactivision's market-share) Games which are also, hopefully, better designed to scale over the years as further innovations come to gaming.

Exactly, same question, If in cata they added 2 new races, why not 2 new races on MoP too?

"Why not two new?" - The answer is in front of you, dare to read it aloud?
On the rest of the message - very similar to my feeling.
But I want to emphasise a few key moments that plague WoW in general.
Innate division to two separate camps. "Alliance versus Horde, a Great Conflict that Driving Storyline!111oneone"....... Bull*!@#.
You may "drive storyline" in a singleplayer game, in MMO it may only be a background/lore used for explanation and introduction. The very obvious example as of late is the
Legacy of Leyara
storyline. Six days of enjoyable questing... and a month of mind-numbling grind. Which is yet another example of innate failure - starting with TBC, everyone and their mom treating Horde and Alliance very much alike. In either sense of the word.
Which leads to the next cause: whatever you do, your actions are meaningless. If Blizzard decide to make Kalecgos the new blue aspect, nothing you can do to prevent it. And so on. You forced to only make the single decision that fits the scheme. Even when you do it, it's still means nothing, if not less than that.
For the latter part, Lake Wintergrasp and Tol Barad island coming to mind. Blizzard tried hard to prevent ping-pong'ing them, and lo and behold, they are shifted back and forth between fractions every other siege time.
To me, it seems that Blizzard sequentially and confidently derailing the very meaning of MMO game. People are signing up for every new expansion, play two months and disappear until new expansion hits. Because, well, there's no game to play.

Because it's Pandaria, which at the time of the creation had only one main race, as the new ones weren't thought of at the time.

Though, as it is an MMO, it would make sense that there are a large number of open choices since you can't lock down one.

Ok.
1. For all who are saying that this expansion is "lesser". It may very well be. However, they need some filler before the final fight with Sargeras (and then project "Titan" will be the new game by Blizz). So, it stands to reason that one or two expansions might be "lesser". WoW will still be an amazing game, and this will make the next expansion only better.
2. To all of those "What the f***? Pandas?", realize that this isn't new. WoW came up with Pandarens even before the whole "Kung Foo Panda" thing. However, very little was known about them.
Actually,
those of us who are lore-heavy (like me) anticipated this happening as an expansion well before it was announced. Also, some of us, like me, like pandas.
3. Think: What do you have to think that this expansion will be bad? The Pandaren? Again, this was going to happen. The new talent tree? It's not 100% certain; they had the Path of the Titans that was later scrapped, even though it was announced pretty heavily. I agree I don't like most of the new talent tree (there are a few nice talents, i.e. Gorefiend's Grasp, but still...), but although it seems terrible, there's no way to know for sure whether or not it will be released.
4. To all of those complaining about the Monk class... The Tank style seems complicated, mixing Rogues with Death Knights, sorta, ish. However, until we see this in actuality, who knows? And, it can't hurt to just see. About the Healing style, it seems very mixed, sort of like Shamans mixed with Smiter-Spec Priests. Which in Heroic Dragon Soul, Smiters are vital, so... They will have their places. Also, as more mobile healers, that could really help on some fights. About the DPS spec... Who cares if we get another DPS? It's just one more thing to try out.
5. For those who are worried about Monks being flooded and OP. Well, Blizz explicitly said they didn't want the DK thing to happen again. So, they shouldn't start off OP. Also, since they
are not a hero class and start off at level one,
not -everyone- will rush to them.
And finally, since there are Healing, Tank, and DPS specs, there should be no shortage in roles, i.e. when queueing in the Dungeon Finder.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Edited for grammar bads.

and then project "Titan" will be the new game by Blizz/sigh Titan has nothing to do with Warcraft, and is in fact, going to end up being a completely different genre of game from what we've heard(such as the FPS elements).
