Health is a matter of gear, period. You need to learn how to use this site to find where gear drops that is appropriate for your level. You don't mention your level or post an armory link, so here's the general advice:
My first suggestion is to go to Database, Zones, Dungeons, and then find the dungeons listed for your level. Look for leather (under level 50) or mail (over level 50) with agility on it. Those are the pieces you want. Queue for whatever dungeons you need.
Right now, stamina and agility are your best stats. Hit and crit will be good too. To avoid getting stomped in BGs:
Do not queue when you're at the bottom of the bracket. Brackets are in groups of 5 levels. E.g., 10-14 and 15-19. You're at a disadvantage when your level ends in 0, 1, 5, or 6.
Be aware of the classes on the opposing team. Be prepared mentally to execute the right abilities to counter their classes, and use the right pet (if you have a selection of pets tamed).
Killing blows and deaths don't matter as much as winning. You get far more honor and XP from winning than from KBs. Meters are only half the picture.
Survival is key. Learn when you need to leave a fight. Seek out healing when you need it---be it from bandages, food, healers, or the bonus items that appear on some BGs.

Actually, they probably should overlap a bit. It doesn't really matter until you get Mail Specialization at 50, but the extra armor might be nice.
I'd say leather 1-45 and mail 40+ with the goal of being all mail by 50.
