I'd recommend hitting level 85 and then
reading this guide
.
The best way to learn to raid is to just jump on in.
LFR is probably your safest bet to get some experience.

You don't have to be 85 to sign up for a cross-realm raid! Well, not to sign up for WotLK and earlier raids, anyhow. While I definitely recommend using an authenticator because of the way you'd have to share your RealID on the site, I believe OpenRaid is the next big thing in WoW. You simply plan a raid or look over planned raids and sign up, then be online when you're supposed to and suddenly you're raiding.
Although this is a great way to get to raid before 85, you should probably still read up on the boss fights and watch some Fatboss or TankSpot videos to familiarize yourself with the fights. I would also recommend not signing up for heroic mode fights until you've done the normal modes.
(Now, because I linked the main site straight away and saved my referral link until the end of the post, I hope this doesn't qualify as advertising or what have you. If you get people to sign up on the site, you get +5 rep, which is an interesting system itself because it forces players to maintain some degree of civility while using the site. Anyhow, if you wouldn't mind signing up to the site through my referral link, I'd really appreciate it:
