I can't in any way get Leatherworking to show more than up to 300 in skill? Is it a bug or something?
Leatherworking sorted by highest skill first
only shows 300 as "highest", anyone else got same bug?

Not just leatherworking... every other tradeskill only shows up to 300 or 400, they must be doing something on the backend.

Sorting happens within the data that's been fetched and there's no filtering that's asked the database to fetch high skill level results. The site has an upper limit of 200 results it can return and then the user has to filter further to get the specific results they need.
In this case you could try filtering by
latest expansion
or by
specific skill levels
.
I understand that it can sometimes be a bit unintuitive and frustrating but if it ever shows that it has 200 results to show you then you can be pretty sure that it could have far more than that but it's unable to display them to you and further filtering might be required.

Cataclysm works. But not
Burning Crusade
or
Wrath of the Lich King
, that can't be intended. :-P

Something else is going on though. I'm just spequlating here, but I honestly think is has something to do with the "Exclude results from Mists of Pandaria" filter button.
This topic
came up before, and that's around the time when weird search results like this started to happen.
Examples.
Item search for daggers =
200 results
Items search for daggers with 1 filter =
200 results
Items search for daggers with Exclude Mists of Pandaria button only. =
794 results
Items search for daggers with 1 filter and Exclude button =
552 results
Now, its said that 200 is the upper limite of results, but that only happens on some pages. Other pages you can get way more.
Leatherworking in the professions tab =
623 results
Lets see what the devs say on Monday, but its weird, that's for sure.
Cheers,
Hat

:) 200 is the limited results
without a filter.
This is to prevent overloading our database, IIRC. Excluding MoP acts as a filter. So technically it's not really a bug that excluding it would create more results.
However, I did talk with Alf about this earlier in the week, and Spiffy will be looking into it and seeing why it's filtering this way for some and not for others. But the bug isn't the excluding MoP option, that's just a filter.(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##Ashelia##DELIM##

Its just strange that its working for the MoP Filter, and not the DPS > 30 filter, or any other filter. O.o
Strange indeed!

So it turns out that the filters have never worked for recipes. Wowhead has never ever classified recipes by expac except in Cataclysm :(
I can manually go and add those filters/added in dates. It's a lot of work, though, as it requires LUA coding plus actually tracking down each item's added in date... do you guys use them? Or is it just Alf's example that caused people to check it out? I'm happy to do it if people think it would help browsing.(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##Ashelia##DELIM##
