Hey WMM,
Welcome to Wowhead. It takes a little time to learn how to use the database properly, but once you do, rarrrr the love you will have for it will be endless.
Lets go through some basic examples to get you on your way.
First lets get to that armor. For right now, I'm going to use plate armor as the example. I know more about plate, and its cool!
- Database --> Items --> Armor --> Plate (Results)
Now Wowhead gets results with 200 as a cap. Obviously there are more than 200 plate pieces. - Lets focus on getting the filters right first.
- Database --> Items --> Armor --> Plate
- Intellect > 1
- Strength >1
- (Results)
A pretty weird search, but good for proving a point. The following is checking for all plate armor items that have BOTH intellect and Strength. We get 10 results.
Lets switch the options, and make it so that it only matches 1 of the filters.
(
Results)
- Well, now we are back up to over 200 results. This makes sense because obviously there are going to be more than 200 items that have Strength OR Intellect
The "At least one" filters seem to be working. If you have an example of something you are looking for please post it.
Lets move on to making a set and viewing it in 3D.
I believe that the best way to do this is using the Item Comparison feature of Wowhead. Tools -->
Item ComparisonThe item compare tool, has lots of options and some hidden functionality that you might not have thought possible. I suggest you read up on the
FAQ to learn what it can do.
Lets skip forward a bit and I'll show you what I mean.
Transmogrification is all about the big visible items. So lets say you went through Wowhead, or found the names of some items in game, and made yourself a list.
Head:
Thane's Tainted GreathelmShoulders:
Abomination ShoulderbladesChest:
Massive Skeletal RibcageLegs:
Bolstered LegplatesFeet:
Tempered Titansteel TreadsHands:
Gauntlets of the MasterMain hand:
Dragonshrine ScepterOff hand:
Wrathful Gladiator's BarrierSo we have this shopping list. What your going to want to do is add all these items to an Item Comparison. I've done that for your
here!Now each of these times has a little tool bar above them that let you do different things. For example, if you click on the arrow thats on the tool bar above the head, and then go to "View in 3D" you'll get a 3D view of it!
Lets take all the items and group them for a better trick. I take each item and I drag them on to the first item. This groups them together.
Here they are now grouped.
Final step. Go to the arrow, just like you did with one item. Hit View in 3D. Now because all the items are grouped, it will show you them on a character model!
Like this!You can delete items, add new items, make 2 groups and compair how they look quickly. It's a pretty cool tool.
Anyways, I hope that helps you out a bit. Please post question you have, or things you are looking for if you have trouble.
Cheers,
Hat
