Looking for pointers as a new pvp healer

My priest is currently at level 82, and levelled from 15-80 almost entirely via dungeon healing. However, I now fancy a change and wanted to go into pvp healing, as I've been levelling a rogue via bgs and enjoyed it greatly.
Basically, I was hoping for a few answers to some questions, if anyone can help :)
1) Disc, or Holy? I've levelled primarily as Holy, but I've taken a month or two off of the priest, to the extent that I'm relearning the playstyle anyway, so swapping to Disc wouldn't be as much of a shock to the system! (Off spec is Shadow) As I understand it, it is a case of reducing damage via absorbs v stronger direct healing, but I'm a novice really in terms of healing.
2) I'm having trouble setting up addons like Healbot, especially when it comes to the larger battlegrounds like AV and IoC. I'd like to set it up so that when I'm within range of my allies the bar is coloured and solid, and when I'm not it is simply greyed out. None of the halfway nonsense, as I'm sometimes finding it hard to distinguish between in range and out of range.
If anyone can point me towards a comprehensive guide to pvp healing (spec appropriate of course) I would be very grateful.
Thanks in advance :)
P.S. I tried posting this in the priest forum, but have had no luck, so have tried here instead :)

Disc is vastly superior for PvP.
I used healbot for arenas and just keybinds for battlegrounds.
Noxxic
usually gives decent pointers about PvP/PvE for each individual class, but i also check what the top Disc priests in PvP are doing to confirm.
Thanks very much :)
I have had a look at Noxxic in the past I think, but it always seems quite brief in terms of the information, you know?
