Hello!
I'm trying to create wowhead viewer for mobile phone, that use Android OS. Can you create wowhead API, that allow to obtain clean data from site(at least without comments or images), to reduce mobile traffic usage; or data as xml\ json format

At the time we're not able to do a mobile Wowhead. And unfortunately if we did an API as such, I think someone would try to make money off it using our name, which would cause issues for us :( I would love a mobile Wowhead, I find it a shame we can't do one.

For whatever data it is you're looking to manipulate, you may want to checkout the official
Community Platform API
and its
support forums
, which is extremely well done despite its imperfections.

Just a thought... so create the API and sell and/or rent it. More money (from data you already have)!

i'm pretty sure that blizzard does not support the selling of data, and that's why wowhead cannot devote the man-hours to creating a mobile app since they would have to give it away for free. that would also prevent them from being able to sell or rent the API.

Well, an API would still let others do apps that cost money, and it still costs wowhead/ZAM money to develop an API - an investment that doesn't pay off in any way for them.
