Personally, I think that "Insidious" was a fair horror film, but the ending left a lot to be desired. There was absolutely no reason for the father to hang back- any half-sane person would want to get out ASAP. Totally forced so they could get a "surprise" ending.
As far as Astral projection- no. I don't know that I think that flying dreams are unique. I think most people have them at some point, and many people have them repeatedly. I still remember flying dreams I had as a child pretty vividly. I also remember dreams about unseen presences, about weird tim-burtonesque theme parks and about making out with a guy I liked from my chorus class in middle school. I think we remember certain dreams very vividly.
In order for me to even consider believing in something like astral projection, I'd need to see studies about people who actually became aware of real events when they had no other way of knowing about them, or had some kind of an effect on the waking world while dreaming (outside of metabolic or biological changes within themselves). Do you have anything like that?

@Arczen- I think you'll find that a pretty large percentage of posters on wowhead don't believe in things that are spiritual/religious/occult.
I am of the opinion that if I was presented with evidence of something (real evidence, not just conjecture, theory or vague coincidences), then I would have to consider it as a possibility.
However, many of your analogies are...lacking, in terms of understanding how the technology works. You say that because we can generate radio waves, wound waves, electrical current, streams of data, etc. we should be able to conceive of anything that exists without being seen. I say that we have, through experimentation, found a number of forms of energy that we have harnessed and used for these things. But all of these things are observable on some level, if not seen. If we weren't able to observe these things, then there would be no way to manipulate them to carry the exact images, sounds, etc. that we want them to, right? So we must be able to measure them and manipulate them with technology.
What you're talking about is our mind being able to either use one of these forms of energy, or a yet undetermined form, to do something. But you're equating the observable with the theorized with the technology analogy. Also, you're trying to prove the existence of something with unobservable effects, based on anecdotal evidence for which there is already a measurable and observable rational explanation (dreams).
I think that dreams being very realistic =/= a reason to believe that your soul has departed your body, any more than I believe than I believe that a dish tasting really good is a reason to believe that someone used magic to make the food.
